Responsibilities The Clinical Director is responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, effective, direct and indirect, patient-family centered care through the continuum of perioperative care including but not limited to outpatient surgery, pre-op, operating room; post anesthesia care, gastrointestinal, sterile processing and anesthesia services. The Clinical Director functions as a resource person for staff members and provides necessary education, training, competency validation, and performance reviews of individual members of the nursing staff. Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided by specified units. Makes decisions regarding patient care activities in area of responsibility. The Clinical Director is responsible for the oversight of the departmental budget and management of staff. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience, education and training. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years nursing practice with emphasis on leadership & management experience. Minimum of 3 years nursing management, preferably in an acute care setting. REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Current license as Registered Nurse in Texas. Certified through the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support required. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. PALS preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES Excellent interpersonal skills; computer skills; basic finance knowledge and basic typing skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
