Overview Claims Director - Construction & Infrastructure role at Aon in Chicago, IL. Hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from the Chicago office.
Responsibilities Review overnight updates on active liability claims and prioritize those requiring immediate attention
Interface with clients to answer questions, provide updates, and offer strategic guidance
Collaborate with internal Aon teams to resolve client inquiries and connect clients with appropriate experts
Advocate for an expanded view of coverage to ensure clients receive broad policy benefits
Analyze claim trends, prepare reports, and participate in client meetings or strategy sessions
Maintain focus on advocacy, responsiveness, and delivering exceptional service to Construction & Infrastructure clients
Program review for accurate reserving
Maximize claims service and advocate for expanded coverage view
Advocate for expedited claim resolution
Ensure timely return of collateral
Identify opportunities to reduce the client’s total cost of risk
Collaborate with carriers to reduce the client experience modification factor
Work with risk control colleagues to ensure project safety
Collaborate with Aon resources for other claims and operational issues
Collaborate with claims and broking teams to identify optimal coverage forms and match client needs with appropriate terms
Qualifications 10+ years of experience working with Liability Claims, with a focus on Construction and/or Infrastructure clients in Illinois and the Midwest
Proven client-facing skills including effective presentations and communications
Working knowledge of carrier underwriting practices and processes
Proven leadership skills and ability to work with clients to exceed expectations
Strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate with others
Experience in resource deployment and utilization management
Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively at various levels
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Education Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $140,000 to $180,000 annually. Actual salary varies based on education, experience, skills, and location. Eligible for annual incentive plans with discretionary bonuses per plan terms.
