Summary

The Assistant Director will support the Director in the day-to-day operations of the center. This includes assisting with staff management, overseeing the curriculum, ensuring regulatory compliance, and helping to implement Chroma ELA's mission and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with strong communication and organizational skills, who is passionate about early childhood education and supporting staff and families

Duties

  • Assist the Director in overseeing the daily operations of the academy, ensuring smooth functioning and high-quality programming.
  • Provide leadership and support to teaching staff, offering mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Help to implement and assess early childhood education programs that support children's developmental and learning needs.
  • Assist with the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of staff members.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Monitor and manage classroom environments, providing support to staff and addressing any concerns or issues as they arise.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, families, and the community, acting as a point of contact for any concerns or inquiries.
  • Support the Director in managing budgets, supplies, and resources.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures that maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Support efforts to improve operational efficiency and implement best practices across the academy.
  • Assist with managing communication and reporting to stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, staff, and families.


Requirements

TCC, CDA, Paraprofessional. Associates or Bachelors Degree in education.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of early childhood education best practices, child development, and state licensing regulations.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
Ability to foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Passion for working with children and providing exceptional educational experiences.
Ability to pass a national criminal background check
Valid Drivers License
Experience in budgeting and resource management is a plus.
