Duties
The Director / Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall success of the preschool, including:
The education and the well-being of each enrolled child.
The support and development of every staff member.
The financial and operational success of the center.
This leadership role requires a deep understanding of early childhood education, as well as strong management, communication, and organizational skills.
1.Leadership (40%)
Looking for a friendly and dependable person to develop, facilitate and supervise an age-appropriate curriculum.
Use creative ways to implement daily lessons and activities to help children learn language, social, and motor skills.
Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities and community contacts.
Supervise and manage staff members, including training and development.
2.Operations (40%)
Step up and help staff in each classroom as needed.
Walk around the facility several times a day to get a better sense of current needs. Solve problems/concerns as they arise.
Serve in various roles throughout the center as needed, including to “fill in” as a teacher, to help the team and ensure teachers-to-children ratios are maintained at any time.
3.Administrative (20%)
Ensure compliance with regulations set forth by the Arizona Department of Health Services and Arizona Department of Economic Security.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency.
Answer the phone promptly and in a courteous manner.
Lead Facility tours with prospective families and drive new enrollments.
Prepare weekly staff schedules, classroom rosters, supplies orders, staff timecards, children’s records and reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Daycare/Preschool Teaching: 5 years (Required)
- Must meet Director qualification requirements:
High school diploma or GED with 60 hours Early Childhood Education trainings 12 hours training in program administration, planning, development or management.
or
High school diploma or GED with 6 college credits in Early Childhood Education 12 hours training in program administration, planning, development or management.
- Must clear full background check (Required)
- TB Skin Test (Required)
- Fingerprint Clearance Card (Required)
- Be able to lift and carry children (ages may vary)
