We are seeking a motivated and passionate Child and Adolescent Day Treatment Assistant Program Director to join our dynamic team. Job title: Child and Adolescent Day Treatment Assistant Program Director Location: New Hanover Required Education/Qualifications Graduation from an accredited program with a Bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field and two years of progressive substance abuse and/or mental health counseling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. OR three years supervision experience in the substance abuse and/or mental health field as well as five total years of experience in the substance abuse and/or mental health field. Position Highlights Provides supervision and management of all Day Treatment staff related to program expectations. Participates in administrative work related to planning, directing, and managing all aspects of the Child and Adolescent Day Treatment program. Assists Program Director with managing and overseeing staff development. Plans, directs and manages the staff as well as the daily activities of Day Treatment Services. Assists Day Treatment Director to manage all aspects of Day Treatment Program and ongoing program components, reporting to Day Treatment Director related to services, progress, issues, updates and expectations of Day Treatment program. Collaborates with Program Director to evaluate program effectiveness and determine needs for modification and development. Supervises staff conducting clinical interviews to determine psycho-social, mental health, substance use and medical needs; documents diagnoses and recommendations; develops person-centered plans and provides ongoing monitoring and updates. Provides supervision to team staff on a regular basis to enhance skills and reinforce Best Practice treatment approaches. Assists Program Director with direct supervision of Day Treatment and development of enhanced competency to reinforce Best Practice skills. Collaborates with Program Director to provide consultation, problem solving, quality control, and ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures and laws. Provides support to staff in crisis situations. Oversees training and supervision of Day Treatment personnel and staff development. Directs and oversees meetings to disseminate program information, provide training, and assess compliance with billable hours, referral completion, and timely completion of clinical assessments and care plans. Participates in personnel functions related to hiring, promotion, discipline, and dismissal. Ensures timely completion of required documentation and authorizations in compliance with Local Management Entity and Medicaid guidelines. Works with referrals, conducts community educational workshops, and provides professional services to referrals from various sectors. Builds and maintains Day Treatment referrals and community awareness by sustaining contracts with provider agencies, educational organizations, and statewide institutions. Additional Information Knowledge of practical application of therapeutic approaches, group dynamics, crisis intervention, and family therapy. Knowledge of community resources. Knowledge of psycho-social, socioeconomic and behavioral problems and their treatment. Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies governing the program. Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes and psychopharmacology. Ability to establish rapport with clients and families and assess psycho-social, behavioral, and psychological aspects. Ability to formulate treatment goals and document accordingly. Ability to make public presentations to community and agency groups. Ability to plan and execute programmatic work effectively and supervise staff, including volunteers and interns. Must be able to perform sedentary work and move objects up to 10 pounds; visual acuity for extensive reading; valid driver’s license and ability to work in community settings.
