About the Role

The Company is in search of a Director of Business Services, also known as a Chief Financial Officer, to join their team. The successful candidate will be a key advisor to the Superintendent and School Board, ensuring the fiscal integrity and operational efficiency of the district. This role is pivotal in supporting student success, staff excellence, and community engagement. The Director will provide visionary leadership in financial planning, budget management, and district operations, overseeing budget development, fiscal oversight, accounting, payroll, financial audits, grants and resource management, risk management, and strategic planning. They will also be involved in collective bargaining and will directly supervise all business office staff and department heads for various services.

The ideal candidate for this position at the company will be a collaborative and solutions-driven financial leader with a strong commitment to excellence in education. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, with a Master's degree preferred, and experience in school district or public sector finance is essential. The role demands strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a working knowledge of fiscal management, legal matters, risk management, and school district operations. Familiarity with Oregon school finance and administration is a plus. The candidate should be proficient in financial software, with a CPA license being highly desired, and SFO or governmental budget administrator certification preferred.
