About the Role

The Company is seeking a Board Chair to join its mission of fostering an inclusive, liberatory writing culture. The successful candidate will serve as a key partner and advisor to the Executive Director, ensuring that the Board's actions align with the organization's bylaws, goals, and mission. This leadership role involves developing and chairing Board meetings, maintaining rules of order, and encouraging the Board's involvement in strategic planning. The Board Chair will also be responsible for discussing organizational issues, guiding Board actions, monitoring financial planning, and playing a leading role in fundraising activities. Additionally, the role includes formal and informal evaluations of the Executive Director and Board members, as well as supervising the recruitment and onboarding of new Board members.
