Location: Harlingen, Texas We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to fill the role of Director of Nursing for our Cardiac and Stroke Care units. This is a full-time leadership position based in Harlingen, TX, offering an exciting opportunity to lead and shape patient care delivery in these critical areas. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality, safe, and effective nursing care. As the Director, your duties will include assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices across multiple units, with round-the-clock oversight of the Cardiac and Stroke Care departments. Your leadership will be vital in maintaining staff competency and optimizing resource management for patient care in both Cardiac and Stroke units. Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and support to the CNO for all nursing and designated patient care functions and services in the hospital. Take on 24/7 responsibility for the Cardiac and Stroke Care units. Assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices across multiple units. Ensure high-quality, safe, and effective nursing care for patients in the Cardiac and Stroke units. Accountable for the competency of clinical staff and optimal resource management related to patient care. Act as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession. Requirements:
Essential:
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) combined with a Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related role. Licenses/Certifications: Active and current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated leadership abilities, and deep operational knowledge of hospital settings. Desirable:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Master's degree in a healthcare-related field. Compensation & Benefits:
