Founded in 7, NDWA works for the respect, recognition, and inclusion in labor protections of domestic and home care workers across the country. NDWA is winning improved working conditions while building a powerful movement rooted in the human rights, dignity and equality of domestic workers, home care workers, immigrant women, and Black women. NDWA was founded in 7 by domestic workers and organizers from around the country. Our national alliance has grown from this founding group of organizations to now more than affiliate organizations, and local chapters developed by NDWA. To date, the Alliance comprises more than , nannies, housekeepers, and home care workers in all states. POSITION SUMMARY: The National Domestic Workers Alliance seeks an energetic and experienced events professional to lead the coordination of events that support our growing federal campaigns. This position would be mostly remote, and will support nationwide events – with a strong focus in Washington ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Accountable for the planning, coordination, permitting, and on-site management of both in-person and virtual events and programs related to the organization’s federal and state campaigns, under the supervision of the Creative Operations and Events Director.
Design and direct a variety of events, ranging in size and scope, including but not limited to: lobby visits, rallies, town halls, demonstrations, GOTV events, and press conferences.
Collaborate and support staff across various teams on campaign planning, in particular in executing on campaign tactics, events and other programmatic elements.
Create and maintain comprehensive departmental and event budgets to ensure adherence in conjunction with finance and department directors.
Plan and execute event logistics including but not limited to: contract negotiation, RFP process, event rentals, invitation and registration, decor, BEO management, menu selection and guarantees, entertainment, photography and videography, event data entry and management, recruitment and management of volunteers, and other event production elements.
Creation and management of event materials as well as the production, distribution, organization, and storage of all event merchandise and equipment related to campaigns and other events.
Create training manuals and conduct event training for participating staff and volunteers, organize and manage vendors, and supervise and facilitate venue staff as necessary.
Manage and oversee day-of event production including directing event set-up, communicating with staff, vendor management, problem-solving, and managing break-down and debrief.
Plan and lead post-event debriefs with staff, consultants and vendors; use findings to build processes for repeatable and scalable events.
OTHER DUTIES: Execute and support other administrative projects as needed.
Maintain and update the Events Planning Manual and systems.
Provide assistance with editing presentations and other documents, and do necessary research to prepare agendas for internal and external events.
Manage and maintain an organized inventory of event equipment, supplies and swag in the NDWA DC office, including shipping and receiving when needed.
Other duties that are broadly in line with the above key contributions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Strong working knowledge of federal and state legislative processes preferred.
Experience in multi-entity environments preferred
Extensive experience working with people and organizations across the political spectrum.
Ability and willingness to work extended hours and varying work schedules evenings, weekends and holidays), frequently meet rigid deadlines with limited lead-time, handle concurrent planning and execution of multiple events.
Excellent analytical skills;

Excellent attention to detail and well organized.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a growing non-profit environment.
Understanding of issues facing low-wage workers, immigrant communities, and other communities of color.

Previous work as an advance staffer and managing principals
Ability to travel on a regular basis as needed.
