Responsibilities
Michael’s House is currently seeking a Business Development Director to join our leadership team! The Business Development Director oversees the provision of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service activities within the Business Development Department and marketing representatives. Additionally, this role is responsible for achieving the desired utilization of the organization’s continuum of care through the effective application of marketing/sales principles and methods. The ideal candidate will have the ability to inspire our clients’ confidence in both our staff and Michael’s House Model of Treatment by exhibiting a high level of both knowledge and compassion. Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Responsible for implementing the facility’s strategic marketing plan, enhancing the facility’s brand/image, coordination of all sales and business development activities and maintaining an active and productive working relationship with internal departments and communicates issues or potential problems proactively, especially with CEO and Director of Admissions/Intake. • Mentor BD Reps and provide feedback and conduct evaluations about performance related to individual job description requirements. Hours are based on departmental and facility needs and may include day, evening and weekend hours, as directed by the CEO. • Strategically analyzes and designates target markets for Business Development Representatives and territory/account assignments, taking into account the strengths and weaknesses of each Business Development Representative. Insures that expertise and personal styles of team members are insightfully matched to prospective referral sources. • Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of each of the facility’s programs and services, the assessment process and, transportation services, if applicable. • Regularly attends in-services and program development meetings held by the clinical staff to remain informed of current program issues and programmatic changes or updates. • Develops and maintains a current knowledge of general economic and business status of the behavior healthcare and addiction services market within the Southern California marketplace and provides management with relevant information and strategic plans, as appropriate. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field required. Masters of Business Administration or related field highly preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in organizational communications, referral development, workshop planning, sales management, sales mentoring, training and/or physician and other professional relationship-building is required. At least 1 years of supervisory or managerial experience highly preferred. Prefer knowledge of the Southern California behavioral health and addiction treatment marketplace, insurance plans, target markets and referral sources, psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment and, age/condition-specific programming. Ability to travel locally is required. Future travel may include trips that may be in excess of 4 nights a week away from home, including on occasion some weekends.
