Position : Behavioral Health Program Medical Director
Location : Rancho Mirage, CA
Schedule : M-F, day shifts (Full time - W2)
Department: Behavioral Health Services
Reports To: Chief Medical Officer / Executive Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
Key Responsibilities
Meet regularly with operations, administrative staff, and leadership to address program issues and share clinical perspectives.
Partner with the clinic manager to set meeting agendas, lead provider meetings, and oversee clinic operations.
Hold regular one-on-one meetings with physicians and APPs to review data, set goals, and provide feedback.
Manage provider schedules to ensure adequate staffing.
Oversee clinic quality, productivity, teamwork, and adherence to service excellence standards.
Lead or support quality improvement projects and ensure timely submission of data.
Contribute to program budgeting, strategic planning, and business growth initiatives.
Collaborate with billing on compliance, coding, and provider education.
Support physician evaluations, professional development, and, when needed, disciplinary actions.
Foster positive morale, a learning environment, and high-quality patient care.
Review patient service records for quality assurance.
Attend compliance training annually.
Qualifications: MD or DO from an accredited institution.
Board-certified in Psychiatry.
Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of [State].
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, with at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role.
Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, program development, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
