Duties This position is based in the Office of the Director (OOD), which provides leadership and guidance for the agency, including programs such as the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and the Planning, Analysis, and Statistics Division (PASD). The incumbent will serve as Counsel to the Director, EOIR, offering expert legal advice on the interpretation and application of U.S. Immigration Law, statutes, executive orders, directives, regulations, administrative rulings, and court decisions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing legal counsel and advice on immigration law matters. Interpreting and applying relevant statutes, regulations, and court decisions. Assisting in the development of agency policies and procedures related to immigration law. Requirements You must be a U.S. Citizen or National. You must complete a background investigation, credit check, and drug test. Selective Service Registration is required, as applicable. A two-year trial period will be required. You must file a Financial Disclosure. Salary payments must be made via direct deposit to a financial institution.
