Randolph-Macon College is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Assistant Director of Residence and Student Life to join its Student Engagement Center (SEC) team. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Students, this position plays a key role in student development, residential housing logistics, and community engagement. This is a 12-month live-on position with live-on responsibilities to include on-call duty rotation.
Responsibilities :
Provide coaching and support to Area Coordinators through weekly meetings. Coordinate hiring, training, and evaluation of student staff in collaboration with Area Coordinators Develop and support the implementation of a Co-curriculum alongside the SEC leadership team. Oversee Student Organization Assistants to include hiring/training and lead student organization engagement efforts. Support campus use of ENGAGE and help coordinate leadership development workshops for student organizations. Support conduct processes related to student organizations. Coordinate housing assignments, room changes, move-in/move-out, early arrivals, and break housing. Oversee key distribution, inventory, and data integrity within eRezLife. Serve in an on-call duty rotation for emergency and crisis response. Promote student accountability and community living standards. Provide support during student crises and help facilitate follow-up. Serve on campus committees and lead cross-functional teams within the SEC. Maintain communication with key campus partners and stakeholders. Manage departmental email accounts and participate in ongoing strategic initiatives. Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in Student Affairs. Strong administrative, supervisory, and communication skills. Experience with student housing operations and student conduct. Critical thinking, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to inclusion, student development, and community building. Evening and weekend availability required for programming, operations, and on-call responsibilities. Preferred: Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel, or related field Experience with platforms such as Maxient and eRezLife. Supervisory experience in a residential setting.
