Description: Job Overview: Overview: There is a new era at Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research & Enlightenment, and it begins and ends with promoting and marketing the wisdom, insights and spiritual evolution that have come through the Edgar Cayce Readings. Your mission will be, broadly, to plan, develop, direct, oversee, and coordinate all marketing functions for the organization. Manage catalog sales through direct mail and ecommerce. Oversee website design, marketing content, e-news marketing campaigns, and organizational press releases. Manage social media campaigns and oversee all social media Pages, Groups, platforms—including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and TikTok, television programs and ads. Oversee video content and exposure via YouTube.com/edgarcayce. Oversee the Google Grants account and Adwords campaigns as well as paid advertising on Facebook, GEO fencing, as well as any broadcast/media advertising and endeavors. Includes oversight of Membership Department for cultivation, acquisition and retention of A.R.E. Memberships and Life Memberships, to include strategic forecasting and analysis, membership recruitment and retention, promotional development, creating and maintaining value for members, account administration, and creation and maintenance of strategic marketing and communication plans; as well as any new marketing/media endeavors on the cutting edge of this field.
Develop and establish marketing goals to ensure consistent growth and profitability of A.R.E. to accomplish strategic goals and align with vision. Supervise the Marketing, Public Information and Relations, Catalog, and Web staff. Serve in an advisory capacity for all aspects of the organization's marketing initiatives, providing guidelines for effective marketing outreach and assuring a cohesive organizational image. Work in conjunction with the rest of A.R.E.'s Administrative Team under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Requirements: Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Establish marketing goals to ensure consistent growth and profitability of A.R.E. and accomplishment of our strategic goals and vision. Supervise and provide leadership for Marketing, Public Information, Catalog, and Web staff. Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to drive profit growth across all major income areas. Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders to create targeted direct mail, digital marketing, and e-news campaigns etc. Oversee all social media outreach, including paid advertising, PPC advertising, GEO targeting, etc., and perform analysis of same. Oversee all video outreach via YouTube, website, and member-only section. Oversee and develop organizations apps, working with outside app companies. Oversee website design and content to ensure proper Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to reach proper audiences. Oversee e-news marketing efforts for the entire organization, including design and content; ensure we are following best practices for the U.S. CAN SPAM Act as well as e-news laws worldwide. Analyze web data via Google Analytics; respond/adjust accordingly. Collaborate with the CEO and Administrative Team to establish a cohesive image for all of the organization’s outreach and advertising vehicles. Serve as a resource for effective marketing to all A.R.E. /A.U. /E.C.F. programmatic areas. Research, analyze and monitor financial, technological and demographic factors in order to capitalize on market opportunities, and minimize the effects of competitive activity. Develop/plan/oversee the organization’s advertising and promotion activities, from circulation planning to completion in the areas of print, Internet and direct mail. Work with writers and artists to oversee copywriting, design, layout, promotional material production. Develop and recommend circulation, merchandising and pricing strategies for the organization which will result in the greatest sales and profit over the long run. Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio in relation to pre-set standards and to general and specific trends within the industry and the economy. Ensure effective control of marketing results followed by corrective action; achieve marketing objectives within designated budgets. Evaluate market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising decisions, product packaging/content ensuring timely adjustment of marketing plans/strategy in response to changing/competitive market conditions. Recommend changes in basic structure/organization of marketing group to ensure effective fulfillment of objectives assigned; provide flexibility to move swiftly in relation to marketing problems and opportunities. Conduct marketing surveys on current and new product concepts. Prepare marketing activity reports on a monthly basis. Develop complete long-range projects and programs, with major effect on the organization. Serve on the organization’s Administrative/Executive Team. Required Education and Experience: Master’s degree in marketing or closely related field; and Minimum seven years’ experience with direct mail, catalog and Internet marketing; social media, copywriting; and/or An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in marketing field; Director Marketing Association, preferred; Relevant and equivalent work experience includes volunteer work, internships, freelance work, and transferable skills. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Extensive knowledge of online marketing, social media marketing, SEO, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, e-news best practices, and direct mail. Extensive knowledge of and networked in the public relations industry required. Effective copywriting skills required critical to content marketing. An extremely high level of analytical ability is required in order to gather/analyze data and develop solutions to unusual and extremely difficult problems. Extremely high level of creative skills required in order to evaluate issues not clearly defined. Extremely high level of creative skills required for developing new marketing ideas, methods, programs, strategies. Advanced computer tech skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel). Demonstrated skills creating income-producing results, including budget development. Excellent organization, project management, time-management and leadership skills required, with demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with the general public and co-workers – demonstrating patience, diplomacy, persistence, kindness, and clarity is required. Requires sharp critical thinking skills with ability to set priorities among competing responsibilities, using values of importance to the organization, departmental needs, and urgency as some of the criteria. Effective verbal, listening, and interpersonal relationship skills required, both as a leader and as a team member. Requires effective conflict resolution skills with ability to function effectively in a high stress/high visibility position using tact, diplomacy and sensitivity. Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and communicate a broad vision of direct marketing’s impact on entire organization. Extensive knowledge of and skilled in long-range and strategic planning. Ability to be action oriented, flexible and patient interchangeably and at times simultaneously. Requires ability to set priorities among competing responsibilities, using values of importance to the organization, departmental needs, and urgency as some of the criteria. Requires ability to provide a high level of service, display positive attitude toward helping others, and maintain a strong customer focus with demonstrated enthusiasm/respect in working with people from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of and appreciation for the Edgar Cayce philosophy. High degree of emotional intelligence and maturity – demonstrating adaptability, engagement and enthusiasm. A good sense of humor. Special Job or Training Demands: Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends on occasion. On-call availability during all trip departures is required. Scope and Impact of the Position: Position regularly deals with general public and all levels within the organization. Incumbent is fully accountable for outcomes that have a profound impact on entire organization financially, operationally and public image. Develop long-range marketing programs and projects that will significantly impact the organization. Work performed independently with virtually no guidance, supervision or established procedures or instructions. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for periods of time looking at computer screen; manual dexterity and coordination are required while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse. Position may involve some travel; individual must be up for rigors of plane travel. Position requires occasional evening/weekend work and participation outside of defined activities Good physical stamina required; may require movement between buildings, including walking on uneven ground, using staircases in historical buildings without elevators.
