U.S. Import Export Compliance (USIEC) – Enhancing Trade Compliance The USIEC team at Lilly plays a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to U.S. trade regulations across all functional areas and business units. Our mission extends from the United States to Puerto Rico and overseas sites, covering activities governed by U.S. Import Export and Trade laws and regulations. We keep our finger on the pulse of trade compliance, providing prompt updates on regulatory changes and equipping functional teams subject to U.S. regulatory jurisdiction with the right tools. USIEC also serves as the primary contact with the multiple government agencies with regulatory authority over U.S. trade As a valued member of the USIEC team, your focus will be primarily twofold: leading the charge on compliance with U.S. import and export controls, and collaborating on trade/economic sanctions strategy for radioligand therapy. This role demands a commitment to learning, as the intricacies of U.S. import/export controls, trade sanctions, and product flow require depth of knowledge. Initial training and continuing education will be key as external laws, regulations, and the environment changes frequently. Key Responsibilities Radioligand Therapy Compliance Support: Responsible for trade compliance to support the discovery, development, manufacturing and commercialization of radioligand therapies for the treatment of cancer. Collaborate cross-functionally with all areas of the business unit to support compliance cross-border transactions for radioisotope time sensitive products. Company wide compliance: Strategic Leadership : Take the helm in shaping our import and export compliance strategy. Your guidance will ensure adherence to regulations across our global operations, consistent with trade regulations including U.S. Customs, U.S. Department of Commerce, and other trade authorities. Control Systems Management : Maintain robust control systems. This involves leading all aspects of global and local procedures, conducting regular assessments, and developing impactful training programs. Your documentation and monitoring efforts will keep us on the right compliance track. Risk Mitigation : Review supply chain plans and changes, proactively identifying and mitigating risks related to trade economic sanctions, as well as export and import controls. Regular engagement with internal business partners will be crucial for risk management. Cross-Functional Influence : Lead cross-functional projects and processes, getting results even when influencing colleagues who may not directly report to your function or area. External Representation : As our compliance ambassador, you’ll represent Lilly externally. This includes liaising with U.S. government agencies, industry partners, trade functions, and external counsel as needed. Join us in safeguarding compliance excellence across our global footprint! Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Minimum of 7 years of experience in Research and Development OR Trade Compliance Understanding of molecular biology and radioisotope applications highly preferred Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Additional Skills/Preferences Understanding of internal controls or elements of effective compliance programs. Have the ability to investigate, test for compliance, evaluate options, and take corrective action. Relationship-building skills needed to develop effective internal and external working relationships. Ability to adapt and learn in a changing environment with an approach to achieve constant improvement in support of trade compliance. Proven ability to seek data, analyze and draw relevant conclusions, and use data to influence actions/decisions. Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is $127,500 - $187,000 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
