Overview Associate Director - Social Work - Inpatient and Bed-Readiness Program Join to apply for the Associate Director - Social Work - Inpatient and Bed-Readiness Program role at Harborview Medical Center. Work Schedule Full-Time / 40 hours per week Day Shift Position Highlights Be responsible for 24/7 operations of the assigned Social Work areas at Harborview Medical Center. Assume day-to-day accountability for case management support for the departments and collaborate with other clinical disciplines to assess and address patient needs and discharge barriers. Interface with DSHS, community providers and external vendors for contracted services. Support the advancement of healthcare practices across the medical center emphasizing service excellence, patient safety, staff safety, and organizational integration. Primary Job Responsibilities Manage the Social Work Department fiscally: prepare the annual budget and develop strategic department goals aligned with Harborview Medical Center goals as well as teaching and research initiatives. Recruit, train, supervise, motivate, and evaluate staff to maximize service delivery to internal and external customers. Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines (e.g., CMS, DOH, JCAHO) and ensure hospital compliance. Participate in hospital-wide and interdisciplinary committees. Represent the Department of Social Work in Joint Labor Management meetings, collective bargaining, and employee disciplinary activities including grievances and arbitration. Required Position Qualifications A Master of Social Work (MSW) from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) within the State of Washington. Minimum 6-8 years of experience in healthcare operations management at a large academic medical center. Demonstrated leadership and program management skills with successful staff development. Proficient in Windows-based applications with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-directed, able to multi-task, with excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of clinical protocols and practices. Additional Information EO/AAE
