Sinclair, Inc. is seeking a passionate and experienced Associate Director, Social Media, Sports to lead the strategy, development, and growth of social content for its sports podcasting division. This high-profile leadership role focuses on building strong brand identities for each show, amplifying talent voices, and crafting tailored strategies to grow engaged audiences across platforms. The position combines creative content development with marketing, managing existing shows and strategizing for new ones.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in social media and digital content strategy within sports and/or entertainment. They should possess the creative vision to develop engaging brands and the technical skills to execute them. Experience with podcasting and long-form content is highly desirable.
What You’ll Do: Lead the development and execution of social strategies to drive audience growth, discoverability, brand awareness, and revenue for Sinclair’s sports podcasts.
Create multi-platform social strategies for new and existing podcasts, including developing franchises and leveraging in-show and adjacent content.
Collaborate on creative vision, build audience profiles, develop voice and tone, and work with talent and creatives to establish show brands.
Hire, lead, and mentor a team of social strategists and creatives, fostering innovation and collaboration.
Partner with sales teams to integrate brand sponsorships into social content and develop new revenue strategies.
Build relationships with talent to optimize their social presence and leverage followings to create franchises.
Improve workflows and develop processes to increase productivity and results.
Coordinate with marketing to develop community engagement strategies and integrate social into marketing plans.
Use Sinclair’s content channels to organically grow shows and attract engaged audiences.
Utilize data and analytics to inform content strategies, track KPIs, and prepare impact reports.
Collaborate on paid and organic social campaigns with marketing teams.
Stay informed on industry trends and emerging platforms to keep Sinclair ahead of the curve.
Who You Are: 10+ years in social media and digital content strategy, with a proven record of audience growth and innovation.
5+ years of team management experience, demonstrating leadership and goal-setting skills.
Deep knowledge of sports, entertainment, and media landscapes domestically and globally.
Expertise in social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter/X, Facebook) and their algorithms.
Ability to bring creative ideas to life through motion graphics, video, and social-first content.
Strong analytical skills to measure performance and guide content decisions.
Understanding of podcasting and long-form content, with ability to translate into social content.
Innovative, boundary-pushing mindset, strategic risk-taker.
Experience working with high-profile talent professionally.
Knowledge of traditional and emerging media channels, including linear TV, digital, and OOH.
Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
Proficiency with content management and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite).
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere).
