Position Summary: The Associate Director, Sales Training - Gastroenterology has responsibility for supporting commercial training needs for Ardelyx's IBSRELA product. This person will have responsibility for strategic planning and implementation of world class product training and skill-based training via eLearning, live meetings and virtual training and on demand training courses. Alignment on all training needs is done in conjunction with Ardelyx's Sales Leadership Team and will report to the SVP, Commercial Excellence. Responsibilities: Oversee the on-the-ground execution and deployment of brand specific training experiences
Assist in the development and execution of comprehensive strategic and tactical plans to support the short and long term objectives of the IBSRELA Field Sales team
Manage implementation and continuous improvement relating to Brand specific, IBSRELA new hire training programs and curriculum, including continuing education with ongoing learning programs
Administer advanced training for ongoing learning of product and disease knowledge and customer interaction capabilities
Develop classroom training programs, including customer interaction capabilities as well as disease and product education via live training experiences, e-learning modules, etc.
Manage continued development of IBSRELA sales training programs mentorships, coaching, and field assessment in partnership with Sales Leadership and Zone Directors
Ensure that training programs are consistent with, and supporting of, company legal, regulatory and compliance guidelines
Work closely with Sales and Market Access to ensure appropriate integration of sales and marketing materials into all new hire and ongoing learning training programs
Provide strategic analysis and planning with the ability to work with and manage demands and expectations from multiple internal customers
Design and attend certification training for relevant training programs and vendors
Qualifications : BA/BS degree, preferably MBA degree in life science or business, with 8 - 10 years of related experience or equivalent experience
Training experience required
Sales and reimbursement experience strongly preferred
6-8+ years of relevant pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience
Experience in specialty pharmaceuticals or biologics, with a background in specialty pharmacy and buy & bill
National travel will vary depending on the needs of the department: 40-50% Design, training and facilitation: 30% Meetings: 20% Field time
Proven communication skills with a well-developed ability to efficiently and productively communicate both verbally and in writing
Ability to influence, collaborate and interact effectively with senior leadership team and multiple key stakeholders across sales and marketing in order to align on objectives and provide consistent training direction
Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities including budgeting and actual spend against budget is required
Experience in Gastroenterology strongly preferred
Excellent verbal & written communication skills essential to success in this position
Strong collaboration, organizational and operations skills
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is $187,000-$229,000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
