DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Regional Development team of United Way of Greater Atlanta plays a crucial role in enhancing the organization's presence, reputation, and impact across the 13 counties of the Greater Atlanta region. By engaging and uniting local stakeholders, the team aims to drive improvements for Child Well-Being (CWB) and address community issues in a customized, future-forward way. Regional Development is dedicated to building local relationships, increasing revenue, and ensuring that United Way is represented across the 13 counties, thereby expanding the organization's presence, improving our reputation and amplifying our impact.
JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Director of Regional Operations and Communications will harness technology and data-driven tools to optimize operational workflows and enhance stakeholder communications. This role requires expertise in leveraging digital systems for project management, CRM platforms for relationship tracking, and data visualization software to present community impact metrics effectively. Proficiency in digital communications tools is essential to ensure that messaging to stakeholders is impactful and aligned with organizational goals. The candidate will also lead the adoption and integration of advanced IT solutions to streamline volunteer coordination, event management, and revenue-generating initiatives, ensuring a more cohesive and efficient departmental operation.
Required Education Level: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Years of Service Required: 3-5 years
Experience Needed: Previous experience in creative communication, project management, and volunteer management, demonstrated success in coordinating multifaceted projects within deadlines, proven track record in developing innovative solutions to complex problems
Communication Skills: Proficiency in visual presentations, excellent written, listening, and speaking skills, ability to tailor communication to diverse audiences
Supervision Skills: Ability to work effectively with volunteers, experience in leading volunteer teams and fostering a collaborative environment. No direct reports as this time.
Programs and Technology Requirements: Create presentations and proposals using Canva, develop and manage Power BI dashboards collaboratively with IT, CRM for relationship tracking and relationship management, familiarity with other project management tools and software
Required Metrics: Advisory board metrics, Prospecting/proposal goals, Ability to analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)

Qualifications and Responsibilitites
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operations - Provide comprehensive support to the Vice President in overseeing the operations of the Regional Development Department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and efficiency in processes.
- Raised and earned revenue - Identify potential partners and clients, develop and manage compelling presentations and proposals to aid in generating raised and earned revenue. Collaborate across departments to maximize fundraising efforts and revenue generation opportunities.
- Volunteers - Work closely with the VP and Regional Directors to develop and implement strategic direction and efficiencies for volunteer engagement. Lead communication efforts, create streamlined and consistent processes, meeting schedules/templates, and develop sophisticated Power BI tools to manage volunteer metrics, enhancing the overall experience for our 120+ county impact board volunteers.
- Communication - Create and implement a strong communication strategy. Utilize digital platforms and social media tools to enhance outreach. Work with Marketing to generate and share local stories, keep stakeholders updated with innovative content through newsletters and online portals, and support Sprout Advocacy to align with organizational goals using data analytics and tracking technologies.
- Events - Establish overall direction, lead, and manage events in conjunction with Regional Directors, ensuring they align with the strategic goals of the organization and effectively engage participants.
- Relationships - Develop collaborative relationships with internal departments as needed to disseminate data and meet deadlines and goals.
