Position Purpose:  Provide an overview of the responsibilities of the position by providing a summary of the most important aspects and duties of the position. The Associate Director of Operations & Excellence at CSL leads an operations home office-based team focused on internal/external meeting event planning, Promotional Review process and promotional material warehousing, inventory and deployment.
This role drives process improvement, ensures quality reviews in compliance with company and regulatory standards and applies innovation and technology for continued enhancements across operational priorities. With responsibility for a team of individual contributors including Sr. Managers, Editors and Promotion Specialists that span across multiple therapy areas and brands, the leader defines and executes processes on PRC, conferences, internal meeting events and promotional material management with Marketing, Sales, Medical, Legal Compliance, Training, Regulatory, External agency partners or vendors, and Operations.
The role requires occasional domestic travel (estimated Reporting Relationships: List other positions in the company that are reporting into this position or that this position reports into. Role that this position reports to: Exec. Dir, Patient Experience and Operations

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1- Managing internal and external resources to guide the production of US promotional materials (print and digital), from concept to distribution /go-live on the web.
Responsibilities include ownership and the management of the promotion review SOP and MLR processes and implementation.
Primary business owner of the Electronic Review Tool, responsible for overseeing the review, approval, and documentation of all promotional and MLR materials. Also serves as the business owner of the iPad platform, ensuring its strategic alignment and operational effectiveness.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities (continued) 2- Responsible for the management of the printing, storage, archiving, inventory and shipping, budget management of all US promotional materials and online ordering tool. High quality digital and print materials and produced on time and within budget
3- Responsible for the Promotion Review Committee (PRC) meetings, providing metrics, identifying internal process improvement opportunities, and managing staff resources.
4- Responsible for managing contract and relationships with ad and digital agencies, warehousing, print and electronic PRC tool vendors, either directly or with partnership with Strategic Sourcing.
Responsible for managing warehousing and shipping expenses within assigned budget and cost center allocations .
5- Responsible for directing and supporting team on the planning to execution of key internal events and meetings including POAs, national commercial meetings, new hire or other training events and incentive trips .
Responsible for managing vendors and spending to budget allocations within cost centers.
6- Responsible for directing and supporting team on the planning to execution of patient and health care provider conferences, meetings and key events with aligned goals and plans with Marketing.

7- Establish role appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the impact and effectiveness of operational effectiveness of PRC, Materials Management and meetings.
Monitor team performance against targets and provide regular reports to senior management.
8- Participate in and contribute to the 1-year Integrated Brand Planning across therapy areas including monthly cross-company meetings with other operational teams sharing out best practices and adopting new company wide solutions.
9- Responsible for staying informed of industry and regulatory updates relevant for PRC, promotional materials and meetings/event promotions.
Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:  Provide hiring requirements for the specified position, including educational, experiential, and competency requirements necessary for the position.
Education Bachelor’s degree required (business /management, healthcare discipline or life sciences preferred). MBA or other post graduate qualifications an asset.
Experience Professional with 10+ years’ experience required from relevant roles within the pharmaceutical industry including multidisciplinary commercial leadership and/or operational roles with experience within PRC, materials management and meeting or exhibit planning.
Expertise in Promotional Marketing, Management, Advertising and Promotional Medical/Legal/Regulatory FDA review and approval.
Extensive experience in purchasing, printing, advertising, direct mail, digital marketing, branding, production, promotion, warehousing, for branded and managed markets.
Strengths to include agency, vendor and supplier management, product promotion, leadership, contracts, process improvement, negotiation, inventory management, promotional item procurement, meeting/exhibit planning. Managed and supervised creative services, procurement print managers, promotion specialists, editors, meeting planners recruiting and mentoring.
Customer focused with excellent relationship and communication skills.
Experience in rare, specialty and similar therapy areas preferred.
Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change with peers and Executive Management. Ability to lead through ambiguity and be a change agent where multiple stakeholders have conflicting views.
