Associate Director Of Evening Adult Degree Program

La Sierra University is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to lead its Evening Adult Degree Program (EADP). The Associate Director will oversee all aspects of the program, including recruitment, onboarding, academic advising, transcript audits, and marketing initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring that adult learners receive a flexible, supportive, and high-quality educational experience tailored to their unique needs.

Pilot Program Note:

This position is being proposed as a one-year pilot initiative, subject to annual review and potential renewal based on program outcomes, enrollment metrics, student satisfaction, and institutional budget considerations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Program Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight for the EADP, ensuring alignment with the university's mission and goals.

Marketing And Outreach: Collaborate with the marketing department to promote the EADP through various channels, highlighting program benefits such as 50% tuition reduction, small class sizes, and evening classes designed for working adults.

Recruitment And Onboarding: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract prospective adult learners, including community college class presentations, community college transfer personnel and fairs, Riverside County employee education venues and other opportunities. Oversee the onboarding process to ensure a seamless transition for new students. Follow up with prospective applicants with encouragement to apply, information for further community college preparation prior to application, answer additional questions, etc. Supervise and assist prospective students through acceptance, official articulation, and financial aid acceptance process.

Transcript Audits: Conduct thorough transcript evaluations to assist students in understanding transferable credits and remaining degree requirements. Prepare Tentative Evaluation of transfer credit against degree requirements and share with prospective applicants. Work with Records office personnel to confirm official evaluation/Degree Works summary when transfer classes have articulated, maintain and make changes as needed.

Academic Advising: Offer personalized academic advising to support student success and retention. Provide in-depth and ongoing academic advisement each quarter to enrolled program students. Work with students who are on SFS Academic Progress hold to prepare needed paperwork for movement of SFS hold to allow quarterly registration. Prepare and maintain quarterly student registration/progression toward degree completion charts. Prepare long-term planning schedules so that students have visual time-frame available in planning how to meet goals; modify if needed due to life circumstances, etc. Administrate DCS Advising Hold, so that students are guaranteed correct advising and registration each quarter to meet SOWK class-cycling needs and Liberal Arts students are enrolled in most appropriate and useful classes for their outstanding degree needs. Provide necessary overrides for admittance to EADP classes, EADP capacity, prerequisite, etc. Team-advise EADP Bachelor of Social Work students with Social Work faculty to ensure only and all necessary classes for degree requirements are completed.

Program Evaluation: Regularly assess program effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback and data analysis. Prepare and submit annual assessment report to the university assessment committee.

Administrative Duties including, but not limited to:

Prepare back-up chart for Records Evaluator due to differences in Track III GE and Degree Works Track I parameters, review, sign-off and oversee Graduation Applications for all EADP students, coordinate submittal to Records office, and review and/or modify with Records' evaluator if needed

Develop, monitor, and manage the EADP program budget to ensure effective use of resources. Collaborate with the Dean's office and Financial Administration to ensure compliance with university financial policies and procedures

Prepare and maintain quarterly student registration charts

Assist students as needed with financial aid/VA funding matters

Assist students as needed with Academic Variance Petition paperwork; prepare Blanket AVP when appropriate

Assist students as needed with Overload Petitions

Meet with/counsel students when instructors express concern over academic and/or personal progress

Prepare and maintain contract teacher contracts and ensure contract is processed up administration ladder

Obtain, forward to CAS Dean's office, and keep copy of contract teachers' syllabi in office files

Maintain and update database of prospective, current, and graduated students

Coordinate graduation regalia needs with Records' personnel

Coordinate graduation celebration

Review and update as necessary yearly Academic Bulletin submission for EADP

Oversee, order, and maintain appropriate office and kitchen supplies

Offer safe zone for students undergoing stress or crisis; giving them opportunity to vent and share, offering support and prayer and reassurance of individual importance of each student to EADP

Qualifications | Knowledge | Abilities:

Bachelor's degree required

One to three years related experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Proven experience in recruitment, marketing, and program development.

Commitment to supporting adult learners and understanding their unique challenges.

Wage Range: $27.82 - $32.75 per hour, plus generous benefits including but not limited to:
