What You’ll Do:
The Associate Director of Clinical Services assists with clinical direction and administrative oversight of a specific program. This position is responsible, alongside other site leaders, for ensuring clinical excellence through developing, implementing and monitoring clinical quality. This position also has administrative responsibilities in managing the program and supervising staff. This position is also accountable to specific performance and growth goals and objectives.
Assists in overseeing all aspects of the program to ensure quality and initiates quality improvement that may be necessary.
Helps with hiring and training new therapists, dietitians and nurses, collaborating with and/or referring to specialist in the given discipline for guidance.
Works with other leaders to guide the professional development of staff in therapists, dietitians, and nurses training and supervision.
Works closely with Lead Therapist, Lead Dietitian, and Lead Nurse/DON to ensure that treatment is clinically appropriate for the clients, meets professional and ethical standards, and is effective.
Coordinates medical care with physicians by following through with their established directives.
Helps to coordinate admissions into the Program and oversees integration into the therapeutic community.
Communicates with VP of Operations, VP of Clinical and CCO when necessary, all critical information relating to issues of quality of care.
Guarantees the treatment program operates optimally through tasks that ensure that client paperwork - including intake reports, clients files, progress reports, and treatment plans - is up to date and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Consistently conducts overall assessments of the effectiveness of the treatment program, gathering input from staff, and addresses the strengths and weaknesses.
Helps to ensure daily operations follow a planned budget.
Serves as a liaison between the treatment programs and collaborates with other entities in the community that are significant and influential in the clients’ lives, such as families and referral sources.
Supports the program director on all clinical and administrative tasks.
Oversees scheduling and overtime/vacation/sick time management for supervisees.
Works with nursing staff to facilitate appropriate medical care.
Completes performance evaluations and competencies of assigned staff.
Participates in the interviewing process as well as disciplinary procedures and terminations.
Conducts (or coordinates with appropriate supervisors) weekly supervision for therapists and dietitians. Shares outcome measures and reviews documentation.
Maintains and ensures the program operates within the guidelines of accreditation boards as appropriate, as well as increasing patient safety awareness.
Reviews stakeholder feedback in Perception of Care surveys and helps to revise program offerings as needed.
Supports Lead Therapist and other clinicians during weekly treatment team meetings and ensures consistent and effective communication among the team members, proper oversight of client development and progress. This position can also provide services specific to clinical background (e.g., therapist, dietitian) to lead groups and sessions as appropriate.
Works with Program Director and DOCS in milieu management.
Partners with appropriate leaders to develop, coordinate and deliver in-services, education sessions, presentations and training to clients, families, staff and other caregivers.
As appropriate to discipline, write and submit proposals for presentations at various industry specific conferences (e.g., iaedp).
As appropriate to discipline, support Utilization Review department/process by facilitating communication between treatment team members and UR for weekly insurance reviews and peer to peer reviews.
Collaborates with local outreach representative to creatively engage referral sources on monthly basis.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, or other relevant health related discipline.
2+ years of progressively responsible experience in leadership role.
2+ years recent related experience working with eating disordered clients or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience in partnering with an executive team.
High level of written and oral communication skills.
Licensed as a Clinical Counselor preferred.
