The AD, Medical Affairs role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of autoimmune treatment by providing medical leadership and strategic insights for our next-generation TYK2 inhibitor, ESK-001. You will play a pivotal role in driving medical strategy, engaging with top thought leaders, and collaborating across functions to bring innovative solutions to patients with high unmet needs. Your work will involve partnering with key stakeholders, shaping medical strategies, and representing Alumis at major scientific congresses, making a significant difference in dermatology and beyond.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Clinical Development, Translational Sciences, and Regulatory teams to translate clinical insights into medical strategies.
Cultivate partnerships with cross-functional teams such as Clinical Development, Translational Science, Discovery, Patient Advocacy, Regulatory, Program Management, and Commercial to support therapeutic and disease area initiatives.
Interact with investigators, KOLs, research institutions, and internal departments to oversee Medical Affairs objectives and ensure scientific integrity of activities.
Support Medical Affairs' short and long-term goals, including research prioritization and collaboration strategies.
Align Medical Affairs activities of ESK-001 with launch readiness and program plans.
Provide medical review and approval of external resources, communications, and publications for accuracy and objectivity.
Plan and execute advisory boards with healthcare providers to gather clinical insights for medical strategy.
Manage relationships with national thought leaders to support Medical Affairs tactics.
Represent Alumis at scientific and clinical congresses.
Collaborate with departments including Commercial, Clinical, Safety, Legal, and Regulatory.
Experience
MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, NP, or PA with industry experience in Dermatology.
At least 5 years of combined pharmaceutical industry and/or academic/clinical medicine experience.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, innovative environment, remaining flexible, proactive, and resourceful.
Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
Strong ability to translate strategy into action, with excellent analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience in developing medical strategic and tactical plans for drug launch is highly preferred.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with proven influence without authority.
Willingness to travel and meet with HCPs/KOLs across US, Canada, and Europe.
Ability to identify non-obvious opportunities by connecting data and unmet needs.
Highly perceptive, socially intelligent, and intuitive.
Leadership skills and experience working in matrix organizations.
Credibility as a scientific leader and collaborator.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects and coordinate teams toward shared outcomes.
Motivated, decisive, results-oriented, and adaptable to rapid change.

This position is based in South San Francisco, CA, with onsite work expected Tuesday-Thursday. Remote applicants are welcome.
