Associate Director, Marketing More than one million people in the United States today are fighting blood cancer. While a traditional allogeneic stem cell transplant has been the best hope for many, the transplant itself can prove fatal or lead to serious conditions, such as graft vs. host disease. Orca Bio is a late-stage biotechnology company redefining the transplant process by developing next-generation cell therapies with the goal of providing significantly better survival rates with dramatically fewer risks. Our purified, high-precision investigational cell therapies aim to replace patients' blood and immune systems with healthy ones and restore their lives. The Associate Director, Marketing, reporting to the Head of Marketing, will lead the US promotional launch of Orca-T, Orca Bio's first commercial product. This role is critical within the Commercial team, overseeing workstreams related to HCP insights, engagement strategies, brand messaging, and promotional tactics across HCP, payer, and patient audiences. The position involves developing tactical plans for multiple launch scenarios, ensuring promotional readiness, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, Sales, Operations, Regulatory, IT, and Legal. Preference will be given to candidates based near Orca Bio's offices in Menlo Park or Sacramento. Responsibilities
Lead the promotional launch of Orca-T, including pre-launch, launch, and post-launch strategies and omnichannel tactics to maximize market penetration and product adoption. Develop and implement effective HCP engagement strategies aligned with the Orca-T brand. Collaborate with the Market Development team and other commercial personnel to craft a comprehensive marketing tactical plan, budget, and performance metrics aligned with brand KPIs. Lead message development for HCP and patient audiences, including insights generation and analysis. Execute a full suite of HCP-facing tactics across personal and non-personal channels, ensuring PRC review and approval for assets related to Day 0, Now Approved, and Campaign phases. Contribute to omnichannel strategy, deployment, and management. Manage agency partners to deliver consistent results. Support advisory board activities, including content creation, execution, and analysis. Engage with KOLs at major congresses, advisory boards, and site visits to support onboarding workstreams. Maintain ongoing engagement with the Sales team to optimize messaging and assets. Manage promotional tactical budgets effectively to ensure launch readiness and successful Orca-T launch. Desired Competencies
Extensive marketing experience, including unbranded and branded strategies and tactical execution. Experience managing omnichannel tactics, including digital and print media. Clinical proficiency in acute leukemia and bone marrow transplantation, with experience working with clinical and scientific experts. Strong business acumen and understanding of HCP perception, behavior, and key value drivers. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet ambitious goals. Excellent communication skills to educate stakeholders and drive results. Ability to thrive in dynamic, ambiguous environments with an entrepreneurial mindset. Proficiency with Veeva PromoMats preferred. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Marketing, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 8+ years in biopharmaceutical industry, including 5+ years in Marketing, Commercial Strategy, or Sales. Experience in hematology/oncology and/or bone marrow transplantation with complex product marketing in high unmet need areas. Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, including market research, messaging, promotional tactics, and regulatory processes. Willingness to travel up to 20%. About Us:
