Summary:
The Associate Director of Government Contracts will become a subject matter expert for government channels and programs. This individual will utilize their experience and technical knowledge to prepare gross-to-net estimates for close and projection cycles, communicate results to cross-functional business partners and prepare scenario analysis to support business decision making. The ideal candidate will have strong financial and analytical acumen, intellectual curiosity, and advanced MS Excel skills.
Responsibilities:
Estimate government channel sales and discounts for all BMS key products based on actual results to date in order to support quarter close activities.
Revise longer-term estimates based on recently closed quarters and the most current forward-looking industry information available. Build consensus among stakeholders on critical assumptions behind projections. Identify variance drivers and underlying themes between update cycles. Adjust projection methodologies to improve accuracy.
Communicate observed trends and variance explanations to stakeholders in various departments at multiple levels. Develop new methodologies to efficiently monitor sales and discounts at deeper levels of detail as needed, while continuing to communicate findings in a clear and simple way.
Build and run scenario models to inform brand pricing and contracting teams of the impact alternative actions (e.g., pricing, commercial contracting, distribution practice changes) would have on government channels. Increase general awareness of how various actions impact government gross-to-nets.
Interpret changing CMS guidance and new regulatory proposals as they are released. Quantify potential impact, adjust projection models as needed and provide explanations.
Along with other team members, modernize gross-to-net operations through implementation of a new centralized system (Anaplan) and identify opportunities to leverage AI to improve forecast accuracy and efficiency.
Maintain policies and procedures in support of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls. Provide support to both internal and external audits.
Contribute to critical work of growing importance in a highly dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Business, Finance, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ experience building, operating, and improving financial models
Understand the operations and complexities of standard government channels (e.g., Medicaid, 340B, and Federal Supply Schedule), newer government programs (e.g., Inflation Reduction Act), and any future regulations/proposals
Demonstrated experience leveraging and/or implementing, AI-driven insights and digital tools to enhance customer engagement strategies, optimize HCP/patient experience, and drive data-informed commercial decision-making
Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office tools
In-depth experience with recent regulations (including Inflation Reduction Act) and government channels such as Medicaid, 340B, and Federal Supply Schedule.
Self-starter with a work history that shows an eagerness to learn, identify opportunities for improvement, and tenaciously pursue those opportunities.
Experience working in a matrix environment, collaborating across departments on common goals.
Strong technical/functional skills and an ability to motivate, develop, and lead others as a player/coach
Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Intellectual Curiosity
Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically about the impact of various contracting approaches which could be employed in a complex ecosystem/marketplace
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Background in government channels, finance, and/or access & reimbursement
The starting compensation for this job is a range from$152,940 to $185,300,plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based ondemonstrated experience.
