What You’ll Do Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Structure, analyze and perform due diligence on transactions that vary in complexity. Prepare and Analyze client forecasts and models.
Analyze material associated with new and existing client/prospect opportunities, including return analysis, deal due diligence and documentation review.
Develop recommendations for the appropriate course of action and prepare credit submissions for adjudication by Global Risk Management of non-investment grade opportunities.
Execute amendment requests and review legal documentation.
Assess credit requirements of existing and prospective clients.
Ensure credit files, agreements and security documents are complete and up-to-date
Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, and ensure the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
Assess proposed non-investment grade financing transactions and monitor the overall underwriting portfolio and the portfolio of held loans.
Critically reviewing individual deals, including but not limited to, the forecast EBITDA and adjustments, capital structure, syndication issues, and risk / reward tradeoffs and make recommendations. Ensure that all credit submissions and daily practices adhere to Bank policies and procedures.
Driving a customer focused culture that deepens client relationships and leverages broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Champion an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and other policies.
Coordinate and work with Managing Director, when necessary, in matters related to the presentation of the Levin portfolios.
What You’ll Bring Understanding of US regulatory considerations and issues
4-7 years of experience in corporate banking non-investment grade credit risk analysis.
Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. Master's degree, recognized professional designation in a specialized area of finance or business, or equivalent, is an asset.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Proactive decision-maker; must handle high volume of credit intensive work; must take initiative in a highly time sensitive environment.
Collaborative, strong sense of teamwork.
Excellent Modelling skills with some supervisory experience
