This position is for a DevSecOps Lead Engineer in the Digital Product Life Cycle (DPLC) Digital Engineering team. Our team seeks to transform the speed, quality, and efficiency of product and service delivery to our customers by providing engineers with an Integrated Digital Environment for increased efficiency and collaboration for use across the Product Life Cycle.
The DevSecOps Lead is chartered with delivering high availability enterprise grade services to enable embedded engineering teams to create products in a modern, automated, high compliance cloud environment. This DevSecOps Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and lead the development of Enterprise DevSecOps Services empowering thousands of engineers across Collins Aerospace. They will interface with internal Collins customers to understand their support needs and drive DevSecOps adoption within the Collins Strategic Business Units, advocating for best practices and continuous improvement.
This individual collaborates with global resources and must be able to support East Coast working business hours.
What YOU will do:
Architect, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, shaping the future of software delivery.
Select, configure, and integrate tools to enhance software development flow, optimizing productivity and performance.
Work closely with the Enterprise Digital Product Life Cycle (DPLC) Program Leadership team, ensuring alignment with the specific needs of the entire Agile Release Train.
Provide DevSecOps implementation expertise to assist the Strategic Business Units’ embedded project teams in adopting DevSecOps tools and best practices, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Enable development teams to automate artifact generation and effectively manage product lifecycles, promoting efficiency and quality, by defining a repeatable Software Development Plan.
Create and define the content for a DPLC Learning Path focused on DevSecOps practices in high compliance information systems.
Drive behavioral and test-driven development practices to enhance software design, implementation, and test automation, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Design, develop, and maintain DevSecOps Low Level Design in conjunction with the Enterprise Architects embedded in the DPLC Leadership team. Ensure Architecture alignment with Use Cases of the Strategic Business Units to meet deployment needs.
Willingness and ability to travel 10% of the time.

Qualifications you must have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 10 years of experience.
5+ years setting up, managing, and leveraging DevSecOps software factory/tools pipelines for embedded software products.
5+ years experience with Virtualization, Containerization, Cloud Strategy, Security, CI/CD, Test Automation, Deployment and Release strategies.
Experience with Safety Critical Software Development, Infrastructure as Code, Performance Monitoring.
Qualifications We Prefer:
5+ years of experience in Embedded Product Software Environment with aerospace certification DO178, DO330/331 or equivalent.
Experience with Agile Methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle.
Familiarity with software process tools like Polarion ALM, Gitlab, VSCode, Eclipse, Jenkins, Matlab, Polyspace, Coverity, Artifactory, Rapita, Robot Framework, Grafana.
Knowledge of Systems Administration.
Knowledgeable in API Integration.

Learn More and Apply Now: Remote: Employees working remotely will primarily work offsite, with potential travel to site locations as needed. If living near a Collins site, onsite presence may be discussed.
The salary range is $147,000 - $295,000, based on experience and other factors. Hired applicants may be eligible for various benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and incentives, depending on the business unit and role specifics.
