Position We are seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Director of Development and Business Operations to join UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Houston, Texas. The Associate Director will lead business development and operational strategy for the Center for Healthcare Data, overseeing marketing, fiscal management, and overall operations. They will also support contract negotiations and supervise quality review and HR activities. The ideal candidate should have experience working with researchers and academics involved in evaluation studies, business development and management. Strong knowledge of policies and statutes related to healthcare data and research is preferred. This is a hybrid position. Accountable for overall planning, coordinating, and directing business management and services for the center. Position Key Accountabilities Lead administrator for the business unit with responsibility for marketing, business development, and fiscal management Supervise and support the business unit’s quality review activities Monitor and supervise budgets in collaboration with other managers and administrators Participate in grant writing and be heavily involved in contract negotiations Manage relationships as the business unit liaison for agency and business partners; develop and deploy programs, policies, guidelines, and activities in collaboration with stakeholders Support strategic planning for the business unit and collaborate with leaders in planning and implementing strategic plans Manage Human Resources activities for direct reports (recruiting, hiring/termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, salary planning) Performs other duties as assigned Certification/Skills Strong knowledge of state and federal policies and statutes pertaining to healthcare data and research (preferred) Experience working with researchers and academics involved in evaluation studies (preferred) Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Business, Public Health Administration or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred Minimum Experience Six (6) years of related experience required; experience in evaluation studies or implementation science preferred Physical Requirements Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently to move objects. Residency Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
