Associate Director, Commercial Data Management Responsible for providing strategic insight and ensuring smooth day-to-day data lifecycle management processes and activities for data assets. Specific job duties include: Provide direction and synthesize the needs of key stakeholders into clear requirements and execution plans. Serve as a point of escalation for individual data lifecycle management activities and work closely with Director, Data Life Manager (DLM) and other Data Stewardship (DS) roles to improve DLM processes. Assume ownership for gathering metadata and other contextual information to catalogue new data sources. Work closely with the DS Data Quality & Standards capability to apply quality principals and best practices to individual data assets as appropriate. Consistently keep up with industry data trends. Support an enterprise wide DLM framework with emphasis on modifications to organizational behavior, polices and standards, guiding principles, metrics, related tools and data architecture. Serve as a liaison between business, functional, and technology groups to ensure that data related business requirements are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning. Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies and standards for purchased data. Work closely with the Data Scouting and Relationship lead role to aid in informing requirements for new data assets and provide input into contracting as necessary. Function as a knowledge base and resource to project teams. Model and coach engagement best practices that enable thought partnership and engender a collaborative environment with robust debate; further the partnership and impact of DS at Otsuka. Foster a culture that embraces the strategic use of data into decision making enabling greater business outcomes. Model the balance of innovation and intellectual curiosity with discipline and structure. Up to 10% domestic travel required based upon business needs. Remote work permitted. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, MIS, Information Management or related field. Seven (7) years of experience in data operations/data management in the pharmaceutical industry. Six (6) years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling. Six (6) years of experience with advanced composition of SQL statements. Five (5) years of experience with analyzing and manipulating complex data sets. Five (5) years of experience with syndicated data assets from major vendors (e.g., IQVIA/Symphony/Veeva). Five (5) years of experience with the design, implementation, and maintenance of custom ETL Data pipelines. Five (5) years of experience with Data Integration and Data Warehouse architecture, leveraging various Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies. Five (5) years of experience with cloud data/analytics projects predominantly centered around platforms such as Snowflake, AWS toolsets. Five (5) years of experience with a BI tool such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, or Qlik Sense.
