Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for the position of Associate Director, Career Services Employer Engagement. The ADEE is part of the Career Services Leadership team and establishes the vision and strategies for employer engagement, develops partnerships with employers, and creates programs to enhance relationships with regional/national organizations and agencies. The ADEE manages program operations, develops program policies and procedures, conducts program assessment, and leads the employer partnership program. This position cultivates and expands employer relationships in industries aligned with the academic programs and interests of UNG students. The ADEE manages relationships with internal UNG partners as well to create innovative partnerships, collaboration, and visibility.
Responsibilities
Create and implement a vision for Employer Engagement that is aligned with the university's and department's mission, values, and goals; engage in strategic planning with the Career Services leadership team Develop strategic engagement opportunities and create recognition programs for employers who recruit UNG students for internship and career opportunities; cultivate, nurture, and expand employer relationships in industries aligned with the academic programs and interests of UNG students; co-lead Career Services Advisory Board Lead the Nigel's Career Closet operations on two campuses; solicit donations of clothing, advise staff and volunteers, create marketing materials and social media posts, establish innovative events, develop processes, procedures, & weekly reports. Cultivate and manage relationships with UNG alumni, faculty, military leadership, SES staff, and family network to create innovative partnerships, programs and events and connections to employers where needed; maintain records of relationships. Develop strategy, policies and procedures for the employer partnership program in connection with UNG Development Officers, identifying potential donors, creating new employer engagement opportunities, providing exceptional customer service, and reporting results to director and Foundation. Provide consulting services to employers for internship and job development to increase opportunities for UNG students; provide seamless transition to internship specialists where needed; develop and manage employer and alumni speaker list; arrange and oversee site visits for students, faculty and/or staff. Regional travel will be necessary. Oversee Career Fairs and on-campus recruiting and employer visits; assess program and event outcomes to make improvements to student learning and employer satisfaction. Regional or statewide travel may be necessary. Meet with individual students for job/internship search assistance, resume review, connecting to employers, as needed Stay current with regional and state labor market changes; collect data from employers, conduct periodic surveys, analyze and create reports shared with director, department chairs, and faculty members as needed; assist with First Destination Survey. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of labor market trends and campus recruiting practices Excellent written and oral communication skills Managerial and leadership skills, dynamic and professional demeanor Strategic thinking and organizational skills; data collection and analytical skills; social media skills Collaboration skills and ability to work with diverse individuals Recordkeeping skills; MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Qualtrics or similar survey/data management software a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree Five (5) years of experience in business development, staffing, career development, account management or relationship management, with at least one year in a higher education environment Driver's License required
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred in Leadership, Business, Career Development or related fields
