Summary The location of this position is East Hanover, NJ. The Insights and Decision Science (IDS) team is dedicated to enabling improved decision-making at Novartis by leveraging data, AI, and innovative technology to identify actionable insights that drive performance. We collaborate closely with the US business to provide insights and challenge ideas, empowering smarter, data-driven decisions. Reporting to the Director, AI Technology, the Associate Director for AI Tech Lead is crucial in integrating AI into our products, enhancing our competitive edge in the pharmaceutical industry. This role involves identifying emerging opportunities in generative and agentic AI to support IDS goals. The individual will lead the development of AI-based solutions, transforming ideas into market-ready products aligned with company objectives. They will interact with business users and the IDS team to showcase capabilities, translate requirements, and develop architecture and roadmaps for prototypes and projects. Major Accountabilities Develop and maintain trust-based relationships with US business partners and IDS team members to understand objectives and provide tailored AI solutions. Translate business requirements into technical assessments for feasibility and prototype development. Build solutions and roadmaps focusing on quick, agile rollout, testing, and iteration. Create detailed design frameworks for application structure and component interaction, ensuring scalability and integration. Contribute insights for strategic reviews and apply market perspectives for customer understanding. Own the development of solution architecture for use case prototypes. Collaborate with diverse teams to develop AI prototypes and oversee solution roadmaps. Support testing and UAT from key stakeholders. Ensure prototypes address key business questions, such as improving patient outcomes or manufacturing processes. Oversee rapid PoC and MVP testing to reduce risks before full development. Communicate AI model benefits to diverse audiences, including laypersons. Act as an AI role model, promoting a culture of innovation and best practices in AI technologies. Experience Novartis seeks an experienced leader with a proven track record in building product prototypes and engaging stakeholders to incorporate feedback. Deep understanding of AI solutions addressing business challenges, such as patient outcomes and R&D optimization, is essential. The candidate should be skilled in comprehensive design blueprints and AI integration, with a commitment to continuous improvement based on data insights and industry trends. Additional qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's or MBA preferred. 6-8 years of experience in healthcare tech development, including full-stack development. Extensive experience translating AI innovations into business value through stakeholder relationships. Proficient in building AI prototypes in collaboration with data science teams. Experience overseeing AI product development and creating solution roadmaps. Strong background in data analytics, AI, and machine learning. Strategic and operational planning skills, with a focus on quality and effectiveness. Teamwork, collaboration, and people management skills. Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical info to diverse audiences. The pay range at commencement is expected to be between $126,000 and $234,000 annually. Final compensation depends on various factors, including location, experience, and skills. The total package may include bonuses, stock units, benefits, and more.
