Associate Attorney - Criminal/Civil - 3 Years Experience

*About the Role*
We are a New Haven-based firm seeking an eager and enthusiastic Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. You will handle a dynamic caseload across *criminal defense*, *personal injury* and *general civil litigation*, with immediate opportunities to take depositions, argue motions, and try cases. This role is ideal for a self-starter who wants meaningful courtroom experience, close mentorship from seasoned trial lawyers, and the runway to build their own book of business.
*What You'll Do*
* Manage cases end-to-end: client intake, investigation, discovery, motion practice, negotiations, and trial preparation. * Draft clear, well-organized pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements. * Appear regularly in state court; argue motions, conduct evidentiary hearings, and participate in mediations/arbitrations. * Evaluate liability, damages, and exposure; develop litigation and settlement strategies. * Communicate proactively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to move matters forward. * Contribute to business development through referrals, networking, and community engagement.
*Qualifications*
* *Active Connecticut bar membership (good standing)* required; *Federal District Court admission* a plus. * Minimum *3 years' litigation experience* in criminal, personal injury, and/or civil matters. * Demonstrated *time management*, *case management* and *client service* skills. * *Excellent legal writing* and research skills; persuasive oral advocacy. * *Strong negotiation* abilities and sound professional judgment. * Comfortable working *independently* and within a *collaborative* team.
