Job Summary: The Assoc. Director, Medical Affairs Training is responsible for the implementation and execution of training programs for Medical Affairs. This role supports training requests from cross-functional collaborators and enhances the skills of Medical Affairs colleagues through training creation and delivery. Training includes onboarding, product and disease training, virtual and advanced training, and other initiatives to meet organizational needs. Effective execution will help develop a medical affairs team and partners that contribute to BioCryst's corporate goals. #LI-Remote
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Effectively deliver training programs (at home office or remotely) for assigned therapeutic areas to enhance medical affairs capabilities.
Collaborate with Medical Directors to conduct needs analyses ensuring training aligns with global and regional medical strategies and regulatory requirements; lead medical training including new hire, virtual, product and disease training, skills training, and training on new and existing initiatives and materials (e.g., internal journal clubs).
Collaborate with cross-functional and medical leadership to provide feedback on training program improvements, structure, resources, and to assess and report the impact and effectiveness of training.
Collaborate with medical teams in developing external communication materials for field teams and lead training thereof, including new publications, congress materials, and medical website content.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications Advanced degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD), preferably in life sciences.
5+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech with a track record in medical affairs; management experience preferred.
2+ years of training or teaching-related experience, including knowledge of adult learning principles and distance learning preferred.
Demonstrated accountability and maturity; ability to model company values.
Knowledge of rare/orphan disease market; ability to communicate clinical benefits using clinical data in external presentations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with cross-functional and medical leadership.
Effective facilitation skills for large group presentations at regional and national meetings.
Strong project management skills (scheduling, planning, prioritizing multiple activities/projects).
Strong coaching skills with ability to provide constructive feedback.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
