Role Description
Manhattan Denim is looking for an Assistant Store Director to join our team in Manhattan Beach, CA. This is a full-time, on-site role. The Assistant Store Director will be responsible for managing the store, overseeing sales, providing customer service, and training staff. We’re looking for a leader to develop and uphold the specialty store experience by exuding a warm and beautiful atmosphere where the client feels at home. The director is responsible for generating sales and building customer relationships in our retail store and will have opening and/or closing responsibility. The director will demonstrate high degrees of proficiency to interact with the customers and identify their needs will maximize their sales opportunities. The director will also be responsible for maintaining the visual and housekeeping standards of the store. This will include the receiving of merchandise and presentation to the selling floor, processing of inventories and analytics.
Responsibilities
Achieve and exceed the personal sales and productivity goals
Demonstrate a complete knowledge of the merchandises’ features and benefits to maximize the sales opportunity
Be a quick thinker who listens to the customer and can identify his/her needs and overcome objections if raised
Responsible to do client development beyond the initial transaction; utilizing phone, email & written follow-up contact. Ensure team is developing his/her client base with outreach.
Maintain the housekeeping and visual standards of the store
Have computer skills to operate the POS register and email systems
Safeguard the store’s inventory by adherence to the company’s loss prevention program
Community involvement, join the chamber, create special events
Lead by example and ensuring company policies and procedures are met
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Menswear , luxury experience preferred
5+ years of retail management experience, with at least 2 years in a Director of Stores or equivalent role
Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth and improve profitability
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience with inventory management and visual merchandising
Understanding of retail metrics, financial statements, and KPIs
Ability to analyze data and draw actionable insights
Familiarity with retail technology and POS systems
Excellent time management and organizational skills
In addition to the above skills, the ideal candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Previous experience in retail fashion is required.
Salary Range - - Base 75,000 - 90,000 Plus commission & Bonus
