Scope of Position: Under the Program Director’s supervision, the Assistant Program Director will oversee service delivery to clients, promote empowerment, and provide leadership by fostering positive community relationships. They will offer individual counseling, crisis intervention, and ensure the safety and maintenance of the facility. The Assistant Program Director will also manage delegated operational tasks and, in the absence of the Program Director, assume all managerial responsibilities under the Area Director's guidance.
Essential Position Functions: Directly supervise Community Resource Specialist and Peer Specialist. In the absence of the Program Director, supervise Case Managers, Vocational Counselors, and Residence Counselors. Supervise the delivery of services to clients, including admission to the program, ongoing operations, and discharge from the program. Ensure that the program is prepared for successful DOHMH and LITC audits and reviews. Assist the Program Director in completing monthly data collection to monitor services and trends in census, attendance, incidents, and funder outcomes. Be available on-call for 24-hour crisis intervention. Attend meetings as requested and be willing to work nights and/or weekends as needed. Assist the Program Director in managing personnel activities, including hiring, shift scheduling, developing policies and procedures, staff meetings, case conferences, staff training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and labor/management issues. Perform all required administrative duties, including reviewing the accuracy of data entry in CARES to monitor performance measures, petty cash management, and monitoring staff attendance. Conduct ongoing assessments of building maintenance requirements and services, acting as liaison with maintenance staff regarding repair needs. Ensure overall management of the facility, including repairs and purchasing. Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions, and training as required. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with related experience or a Master's in a mental health discipline or related field. Experience working with mental health, crisis intervention, and managing trauma-triggered behavior. Excellent time management skills. Stress-resistant and flexible; strong team player with the ability to be open to feedback; creative with excellent organizational skills. Willingness to perform CPR, First Aid, AED, CPI, and Naloxone. Experience supervising clinical and operational staff. Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
