Job Purpose The Assistant Director of Admissions supports the strategic enrollment goals of Tennessee Tech University by assisting in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies and enhancing prospective student engagement. This position plays a key leadership role in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions; supervising staff, managing recruitment projects, and ensuring the delivery of an exceptional prospective student experience. This position requires continual evaluation and reporting of enrollment trends to make data driven decisions regarding recruitment efforts.

Essential Functions Assist the Director of Admissions in planning, developing, and executing recruitment strategies to meet enrollment goals. Responsible for the strategic oversight, coordination, and administration of Tennessee’s dual enrollment program. This includes maintaining partnerships with local school districts, ensuring compliance with state and institutional policies, facilitating the enrollment process and collaborating with academic departments. Oversee daily operations of the admissions recruitment team, including training, mentoring, and evaluating admissions counselors. Represent the institution at recruitment events, college fairs, high school visits, and other outreach opportunities, occasionally requiring travel. Collaborate with the CRM Administrator and Office of Communications and Marketing to develop outreach materials, email campaigns, and social media initiatives. Analyze admissions data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement actionable strategies. Maintain relationships with campus resources and academic departments to foster a cohesive recruitment approach for prospective students. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution with at least five years of related professional experience. Ability to make independent decisions. Effective oral, written, listening and communication skills. Ability to cultivate a supportive and collaborative work environment within the Office of Admissions recruitment team. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Proven experience in hiring, supervising, and team development. Four years of experience in higher education admissions, recruitment, or a comparable area. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
