Assistant Director for Communications (Admissions & Enrollment Specialist IV)

Job Purpose
Responsible for supporting all recruitment efforts through communication in order to ensure strategies meet or exceed undergraduate recruitment goals set by the University; plans and oversees communications activities; and works with representatives of other University departments to accommodate needs, to generate support, and to ensure effectiveness of the recruitment process to support the Strategic Plan.

Essential Functions
Nurture relationships, through various communication channels, with students, parents, providing admissions advice and counsel relative to the recruitment and admissions processes.
Represent the Admissions Office by attending and presenting admissions details at recruitment events, campus visit overviews, all on-campus events, and off campus events as needed.
Maintain content calendars and coordinate with other departments along with Communications and Marketing to assist with admission and marketing materials and proposals, such as direct mail, email campaigns, brochures, etc., as needed. Maintain documentation related to training, communication plans, & data Integrity.
Determine sustainable and effective ways to work with divisions and departments across campus to help them build high-quality, targeted, affordable and on-brand efforts to reach their specific needs within the university’s overall recruitment strategy. Create scheduled data exports from CRM for departments to use for student matriculation. Collaborate with the Office of Communications and Marketing to identify, create, and enhance communication plans and email templates for existing and new audiences utilizing the CRM and texting platforms.
Supervise the Coordinator for Campus Visits, Trailblazers, and Events. Support the efforts of our campus visits program along with our Trailblazers .
Evaluate markets and media through research, focus groups and other methods to continually identify new opportunities to get key university messages to key audiences. Monitor open, read rates to determine if changes should be made. Monitor and analyze applicant/admit data and make recommendations to the Director of Admissions and Assistant Directors of Recruitment on any changes needed to the recruitment strategy. This could involve altering recruiter territories. Other duties as assigned.
Responsible for overseeing the execution of all enrollment events in partnership with colleagues from across campus, and within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Oversees event management within the CRM system including registration and communication in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Admissions and Campus Visits Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Journalism, Communications, Business, or related field.
Four years of related professional experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products – Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
Excellent communications and customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the following disciplines are preferred: education, leadership, counseling, communication, business, or related areas.
Two years of experience working with high school and/or college students.
Experience with the Adobe Suite.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent.
Experience with Slate or another CRM of comparable complexities.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the following disciplines are preferred: education, leadership, counseling, communication, business, or related areas.
Two years of experience working with high school and/or college students.
Experience with the Adobe Suite.
