Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Talent & Culture, the Assistant Director of Talent & Culture at the iconic Fairmont Olympic Hotel supports a company culture of Respect, Belonging, Integrity, Empowerment and Excellence. Key Responsibilities
Partner with the Director of Talent & Culture, assessing organizational needs, developing aligned HR solutions, and implementing strategies in the areas of employee relations, recruitment & retention, benefits, recognition and colleague development. Overseeing the day-to-day administration of the Talent & Culture Office Be a role model within the hotel and exhibit and practice professional leadership skills that are fully aligned and in support of our culture. Counseling and coaching colleagues on job related issues, career development and performance management. Foster and promote positive Colleague relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust and mutual respect. Advise and assist with the interpretation and consistent application of HR policies and procedures and applicable legislation Implement action plans to maintain positive employee relations, development meaningful initiatives including communication and training strategies. Championing certain Health and Safety programs and initiatives including WCB administration, Modified Duty Programs, and injury prevention. Managing of Human Resources Information System (HRIS) including data integrity and report writing Oversee the administering employee benefit programs and 401 K Program, including enrolment, terminations, updating employee status and changes, education, assisting with queries and concerns and ensuring correct monthly billing Providing monthly HR statistics and reports including health and safety report
Qualifications
University/College degree or diploma, preferably with a formal education in Human Resources Management Minimum of three years hospitality experience in a Human Resources leadership position Proven ability to develop trusting relationships and encourage an open environment, which reflects the Mission, Vision and Values of our hotel and Company Successful track record in professionally addressing & resolving difficult and challenging issues at all employee levels Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, complimented by professional maturity, strong leadership skills and business acumen Self-confident, creative and proactive, able to prioritize and make effective decisions Strong computer and technical skills in a variety of technology platforms
Physical Aspects of the Position (include but are not limited to):
Consistent office duties involving desk work and computer tasks Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs Must be able to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
