The Assistant Director of Stewardship serves as a vital link between Berry College's fundraising staff, campus partners, and students supported by donor funding. This role leads the coordination and production of impactful communications that acknowledge and celebrate donor generosity. The successful candidate will manage detailed stewardship projects, create donor reports, and ensure the accurate collection and presentation of student and program information.
This position also plays a key role in producing stewardship reports for capital projects and other donor-funded initiatives, such as entrepreneurship and leadership programs, and meaningful student learning opportunities, including international experiences, professional internships, and mentored research projects. A key function is providing timely, personalized stewardship to members of the Martha Berry Society, the Young Alumni Leadership Giving Circle, and other key donors.
The role requires strong writing, editing, and project management skills, along with proficiency in CRM systems, particularly Salesforce. The Assistant Director will also supervise students supporting stewardship efforts as part of their educational development.
Essential Functions:
Monitor and help execute the annual stewardship plan in coordination with the Director of Advancement Operations and Services.
Create donor reports, scholarship reports, and acknowledgment letters.
Ensure timely, meaningful stewardship of Martha Berry Society (leadership level) donors.
Collect, organize, and maintain accurate biographical data, photos, and thank-you notes from students receiving donor support.
Work closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Advancement Operations and Services to manage the data collection and reporting process through Salesforce.
Serve as a liaison between students, scholarship cohorts, campus departments, and the Advancement team.
Write and edit student profiles and donor-facing materials for grammar, style, and tone.
Lead planning and execution of donor recognition and stewardship events.
Supervise student workers engaged in stewardship activities.
Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in handling donor and student information.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required.
Strong interpersonal, writing, and editing skills.
Highly organized with attention to detail and strong project management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience working within systems and managing data; CRM experience (especially Salesforce) is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in higher education?particularly in admissions, financial aid, or advancement?is a plus.
