Give direction and control all activities relating to the Security department, ensure the Management Company meets its financial, Legal, Resident and guest satisfaction objectives. Formulate progressive policies and procedures with the goal of continuous improvement for the security staff. Supervise, train and manage all Security Staff. REPORTS TO:       Director of Security SUPERVISES:         All Managers/Supervisors/ Security Officers/Dispatchers WORK ENVIRONMENT: All areas of Hotel and surrounding property. Work a flexible schedule/weekends/holidays KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Internal:                    Acqualina Management’s Staff Members External:                   Hotel Guests/Visitors/Residents, Police Department, Fire Department, vendors and contractors. QUALIFICATIONS Essential: Criminal-free record. High school graduate. Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal. Provide legible communication and directions. Compute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers). Computer literate Desirable: College degree. 5 years’ experience. Experience with computers. Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers. Experience in Hospitality Industry in similar position. Previous guest relations training. Certification of previous training in computers. Certification of previous training in alcohol awareness program. Knowledge of local laws, investigative methods and fire safety. Certification in CPR and first aid including the use of defibrillator. Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish or Creole. Valid driver’s license. Excellent driving record. PHYSICAL ABILITIES 1. Exert physical effort in transporting 40 pounds. 2. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas. 3. Reach 12 inches. 4. Remain active for entire work shift. 5. Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding. 6. Ability to walk extended periods of time. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.  Use equipment only as intended. Participate in management training sessions, communication and planning meetings. Investigate all reported incidents. Conduct internal investigations to include interviewing potential suspects and witnesses. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. Assist the Director of Security with formulating and adhering to annual budgets for both CAPEX and labor. Ensure that overtime cost as it related to labor is reduced/eliminated as best as possible. Immersed in the company’s culture of service and maintain positive guest and employee relations at all times. Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas. Maintain complete awareness of: scheduled group activities and house count. hotel facilities and services. hours of operation. facility layout. fire and emergency plans. departmental rules of conduct. Confers with representatives of management to formulate policies, determine need for programs, and coordinate programs with plant activities. At the direction of the Director of Security, confers with representatives of local government to ensure cooperation and coordination of plant activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies. Directs activities of workers involved in industrial safety programs. Report any incident to direct leadership and Department Heads when it concerns their departments and Executive Committee. Notify Director of Security regarding any reports involving possible liability. Brief Director of Security, CFO and General Manager on all matters requiring their attention. Ensure all Security personnel adhere to Corporate, Company and Department policies, procedures and standards. Maintain controls and procedures to ascertain proper access controls to Lost and Found and valuable lock-up areas. Maintain and assist in training all team members at the resort specific Fire and Emergency procedures and ascertain that you and the entire Security team understand the Departments responsibility in an emergency. Assist in coordinating training and perform an annual fire emergency drill. Consistently lead pre-shift enthusiastically and conform to standards. Assist in implementing and enforcing safety regulations and house rules. Ascertains and secures compliance of all life safety equipment and procedures Handles and ensures compliance with all Health Safety Inspections Briefs Supervisors on function, VIP arrivals and other events, which will necessitate additional or special preparations. Investigate suspicious matters which may arise resort-wide. Should criminal cases are occurred in the Resort; assist Police to do investigation work. Responds timely to e-mail request Ascertains timely, accurate, details written documentation of events describing security and natural disaster matters. Maintain a system of incidents, complaints etc. and refer them, if required to the appropriate department for follow up action. Conduct a 2 week formal training program on the required job functions with criterion expected and department orientation with new hires.  Conduct ongoing training with existing staff. Ensures that Department manager/Assistant Manager properly plans and directs Field Training Program. Administer timely required employment practices such as performance and aptitude reviews. Prepare and adjust weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts. Adjust work goals and schedules throughout the week to meet the business demands. Conducts frequent front and back of house checks ensuring the procedures, standards of employee grooming and manning levels are in order and takes appropriate action where necessary. Assign duties and work responsibilities to staff members. Continually supervises and evaluates subordinates. Monitor staff performance in all phases of job functions ensuring that all procedures are carried out to departmental standards; rectify any deficiencies with respective personnel. Investigate complaints relative to security personnel and forward to Director of Security, CFO and Human Recourses. Authorize requests for vacation/sick leave, holidays for staff members, leaves of absences, schedule changes, overtime, salary increases/reductions, purchase requests and expenditures. Manage all fire alarms and emergencies within the property and present completed investigations to the Director of Security. Ensure that all persons registered on KeyTracer Key Management have the correct access. Maintain the ability to respond to the property 24/7 in cases of need. Maintain ability to work a flexible schedule. During your absence, ascertain proper leadership structure is left in-charge to inform Director of Security regarding such matters requiring their attention. Accept additional responsibilities as directed from time to time by the Director of Security, CFO or Member of the Executive Team. Ensures all contractors are properly registered with Accounting office, having provided Signed Vendor terms and conditions, Agreement and a current Certificate of Insurance in compliance with policies Keeps track of all property passes handed to employees and reports any suspicious activity to Director of Security. Ensure that all Sunny Isles Beach Reentry program cards are renewed annually. Provide End of Month report containing pertinent information and recommendations to Director of Security no later than the 2nd of each month. Enforce safety regulations. Investigate accidents. SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS Assist Human Resources in preparation of employee ID's, name tags, and locker inspections. Provide interdepartmental assistance upon request to ensure optimum service to guests. Conduct employee locker audits. Provide security service for banquet functions/meeting rooms. Document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Director of Security.
