Assistant Director of Outreach - Law Programs



Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Outreach, Law Programs plays a key strategic and operational role in driving international enrollment growth for the LL.M. program. This dual-role position blends recruitment with hands-on admissions support, guiding prospective students from initial interest through successful enrollment. The ideal candidate is globally minded, results-driven, and able to cultivate partnerships with international universities, legal institutions, and education consultants. In close collaboration with marketing, faculty, and admissions teams, the Assistant Director will lead outreach initiatives, represent the university at global events, and ensure a smooth and compliant admissions experience for incoming LL.M. students. This position directly supports the university’s mission to expand its global footprint and increase access to U.S. legal education.


Key Responsibilities:


Outreach & Recruitment
  • Develop and execute targeted international recruitment plans to drive LL.M. program enrollment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with global education consultants, universities, law faculties, and government/legal organizations.
  • Represent the university at virtual and in-person events, including education fairs, webinars, school visits, and partner trainings.
  • Deliver clear, compelling presentations about the LL.M. program to prospective students and partners.
  • Track engagement and lead conversions using CRM and outreach tools
  • Conduct market research to identify new regions, trends, and opportunities for growth in legal education.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and refine LL.M.- specific marketing collateral and campaign messaging tailored to international audiences.
  • Coordinate with third-party education consultants and recruiters to support both outreach and admissions efforts—providing program training, ongoing updates, and marketing materials, while also guiding them through the application process to ensure their students meet admission requirements, submit complete documentation, and progress smoothly through to enrollment.
  • Provide feedback to leadership on program positioning, market feedback, and potential improvements to support recruitment strategy and program development.
Admissions
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for LL.M. applicants, providing personalized guidance through each stage of the admissions process.
  • Guide applicants through admissions requirements including transcripts, English proficiency, and personal statements.
  • Support the international admissions process by ensuring all required documents for I-20 issuance (e.g., financial support documents, sponsor affidavits) are collected and verified.
  • Monitor applicant checklist items to ensure timely and complete submissions, and coordinate with internal stakeholders for efficient decision-making.
  • Lead pre-arrival advising sessions for incoming LL.M. students to ensure they understand next steps, travel readiness, and academic expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with SEVIS and other immigration-related regulations throughout the admissions and visa process.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in Slate, ensuring transparency and smooth applicant tracking.
  • Provide enrollment updates/projections and insights to leadership based on applicant data and market trends

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a law school setting, preferably in admissions, student outreach, or graduate legal education recruitment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of international legal education systems and LL.M. admissions requirements.
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience with LSAC systems and tools is preferred.
  • Experience with CRM and admissions platforms (Salesforce, Slate, or HubSpot.).
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and intercultural skills.
  • Familiarity with the needs of international students and the ability to address those needs proactively.
  • Multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including international travel to key recruitment markets
  • Must be comfortable with flexible work hours to accommodate different time zones.
