Overview: The Assistant Director of Nursing/Alternate Administrator reports to the Regional Director of Nursing/Administrator. This position is to work as a liaison and contact for all nursing needs and overseeing nurses for InfuCare Rx. This position will maintain all nursing guidelines, oversee nursing process and procedures, assure quality of care for all patients, oversee staffing and job performance for all nurses and work interdepartmentally to ensure continuum of patient care. General duties include but are not limited to: Provide supervision, guidance, and support to nursing staff on clinical patient issues. Directs patient care using a case management model. Maintains ongoing liaison among the governing body/owner and the personnel. Assures adherence to agency policies and procedures. Dedicates 10% of his/her overall responsibilities to the Quality Management Committee. The Assistant Director of Nursing/Alternate Administrator is an active participant of the committee; responsible for the organization’s Infection Control and Prevention program and tracking of Hand Hygiene and Influenza Vaccination. Evaluates data and reviews progress based on results. Active participant in the Quality Improvement Committee when Regional Director of Nursing/Administrator is unable to attend. Exhibits and maintains knowledge of Infusion nursing, pharmacy services, payment practices and overall understanding of infusion business. Ensures that all physicians’ orders are current and being followed precisely by nursing staff. Promotes skilled home health referrals in the home care community. Provides care as defined within the scope of the state’s nurse practice act. Assists in the development of organization goals. Develops, recommends, and administers agency policies and procedures. The ADON/Alternate Administrator will assist RDON/Administrator in compiling a daily report of home health services provided by a specific direct employee or contracted staff member Is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the HHA. When the RDON/Administrator is not available, a qualified, pre-designated person, who is authorized in writing by the RDON/Administrator and the governing body assumes the same responsibilities and obligations as the RDON/Administrator. The re-designated person may be the clinical manager, as described in 42 CFR 484.105 (c). Supervises, educates, and coaches other nursing personnel. The ADON/Alternate Administrator or pre-designated person is available during all operating hours Take and maintain on-call schedule for nursing to ensure clinician availability 24/7. Plans and implements in-service and training programs. Oversees proper maintenance of clinical records, statistics, reports, and records for purposes of evaluation and reporting organization activities. Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Stays informed about changes in the field of nursing and home health care. Shares information with appropriate organization personnel. Serves and protects the Pharmacy by adhering to professional standards, company policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and URAC and ACHC standard of care. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Education and Skills/Experience: An Associate Degree in Nursing is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred. Current unrestricted RN license. Minimum of 3 years of infusion documented experience. required; 3-5 years of clinical experience with 3-years of experience in a home health agency, primary care clinic, or health facility. A minimum of 1 year Medicare Home Health experience, Joint Commission and/or CHAP experience. Minimum 1 year of Team Lead and/or Supervisory Nursing experience. Reliable car and auto insurance. Current CPR/BLS. Experienced preferred: Peripheral IV starts, maintenance and IV Infusion Therapy Injection and self-infusion training, Phlebotomy for adult and pediatric patients, CVAD experience and knowledge and Advanced Nursing Certifications (CRNI, OCN preferred). Understand regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations; adhere to HIPAA and maintain client. Highly proficient in computer skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.). Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and resource management skills. Ability to manage complex and changing calendars. Ability to interact effectively and courteously with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to work independently and meet established or anticipated deadlines. Ability to take on a wide range of duties and projects and prioritize appropriately. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed. Create a safe, effective environment and have professionalism. Physical Demands: Required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear; required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment; must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs; specific vision requirements for this job include: close, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position without compromising patient care.
