Hours of Work: Full Time, 40hrs/wk. Mon-Fri. Flexible time, 24 hour on-call for all medical situations
Pay Range: $78,873 - $112,596
Job Summary: This position is responsible for overseeing nursing to ensure the delivery of high-quality care for approximately 300 individuals in program settings. The role includes supervising Registered Nurses, conducting audits and cross-checks to confirm that all required care is provided, and reviewing Plans of Nursing Care for compliance with regulatory standards. The position also involves meeting regularly with the nursing team to provide updated training, reinforce best practices, and coordinate services to meet the needs of the individuals served.
Job Qualifications:
Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Minimum of three years of progressive administrative and supervisory experience required.
Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
Valid New York State driver's license meeting agency standards, with reliable transportation.
Ability and willingness to travel as required.
Major Responsibilities:
Oversee all medical care for individuals served by the agency in accordance with current policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for all programs.
Supervise and coordinate nursing professionals and dietary department staff in both residential and day program settings.
Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of all medical policies and procedures, ensuring they remain current across the agency.
Maintain effective interdepartmental communication to ensure quality medical care, including oversight of on-site audits.
Optimize and monitor the cross-check system in Residential and Day Programs; report findings to Quality Assurance.
Participate in and serve on multiple committees and attend meetings as assigned or as needed.
Engage in ongoing personal and professional development and complete all mandated training requirements.
Oversee medical systems and lead the implementation of new systems as assigned.
Direct the daily operations of the nursing department to ensure timely medical referrals, effective response to emergencies, and delivery of necessary care.
