Assistant Director of Nursing JN -092025-165888 Location: Not specified Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 Senioriy level: Director Employment type: Full-time Job function: Health Care Provider Industries: Staffing and Recruiting Overview The Assistant Director of Nursing is under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of clients as they go through the detox and/or residential process. The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for all nursing related services for each client. Education Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing, an M.S. degree in nursing preferred. Experience A minimum of one year experience as a Nursing Supervisor with a working knowledge of Substance Abuse and Dual Diagnosis Clients. Detox experience preferred. License/Certification Licensed to practice nursing in the appropriate state and maintains current license per state requirements. Maintains current CPR. CARN (certified addiction registered nurse) certification, or willing to obtain certification within 12 months of hire. Requirements Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes: Alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on the individual. Knowledge of the impact of alcohol and addictive drugs on the family. Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary. Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose. Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate action at each stage. Knowledge of airborne and blood-borne pathogens (TB, HIV, AIDS, HB) and risk reduction methodologies and the use of universal precautions. Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description, which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team. Specific Areas Of Responsibility To Position Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan meetings. Stabilize clients according to unit protocol. Complete nursing assessments. Monitor vital signs according to GRNH, LLC’s policies and procedures. Communicate with staff any significant information, including the client’s mental status, vital signs, medications and any medication changes and lab results. Collect and record data in a comprehensive, accurate and systematic manner. Document client progress/regress according to established policies and procedures. Assess clients’ need to see a psychiatrist and medical doctor weekly. Perform nursing activities in a safe, professional manner. Maintain compliance with established nursing care standards. Supervise and instruct clients in medication self-administration as ordered by doctor. Manage time effectively for proper balance between administrative unit responsibilities and other program requirements. Assist in formulating standards of care for clients’ care. Report infection control incidents to the Performance Improvement Team and Risk Management. Protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with company privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by law. Access to PHI and other patient information only to the extent necessary to complete job duties; sharing restricted to those with legitimate need for treatment, payment, or operations.
