Job Description:
Initiates, executes, assesses and oversees student engagement, outreach, career advising, career readiness, and professional development efforts for the Center for Experiential Learning & Career Success. Serves as the office's lead expert in career coaching and provides high-level strategic guidance and mentorship to staff. Assists the Director in overseeing the career advising and coaching functions of the office, to include leading the design and implementation of training for professional staff, and providing ongoing professional development to career coaches and campus partners. Serves as the primary liaison to an academic school at Trinity University, collaborating with faculty and engaging students to integrate career development into the academic experience. Provides comprehensive career development and job search services to students and alumni. Participates in the planning, development, and execution of Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success policies.

JOB DUTIES
- Utilizes advanced knowledge, specialized academic training, and substantial career coaching experience to provide high-level, individualized coaching and advising to students and recent alumni. Serves as the designated career coach for undeclared and exploratory students as well as other assigned industry areas. Administers and interprets assessment tools in career exploration and planning sessions, helping students clarify academic and career goals. Incorporates other activities and methods to help students discern career paths and options. Leads office-wide services for students and alumni, including: workshops, presentations, appointments, and drop-in advising. Develops and delivers dynamic content to diverse audiences such as students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents. Proactively identifies, curates, and markets relevant opportunities to students, alumni, and faculty. Reviews and provides expert-level feedback on rsums, curriculum vitae, and cover letters uploaded to CMS. Maintains ongoing relationships with employers in assigned career industries.
- Serves in a leadership capacity within CELCS, providing guidance and mentorship to staff on all aspects of career development, career readiness, student engagement, and professional competencies. Leads the design, execution, and continuous improvement of career/professional development programs and resources for students and alumni. Oversees the review, acquisition, and integration of career development materials for both digital and in-person use. Develops and evaluates innovative, outcomes-based career-related curricula and leads career readiness programming aligned with institutional goals.
- Chairs a CELCS workgroup, providing vision, leadership, and operational direction. Schedules and facilitates meetings, determines strategic objectives, delegates responsibilities, and ensures timely execution of deliverables.
- Produces reports and strategic recommendations for the Director and campus stakeholders. Collects, analyzes, and interprets data to assess the effectiveness of career development and engagement initiatives. Leads or assists in leading the First Destination Survey (FDS) collection process for the institution on an annual basis.
- Collaborates with the Operations Manager to evaluate and enhance front-office policies and procedures with the goal of optimizing student experience and service delivery for appointments, drop-ins, programming, and more.
- Proactively engages in ongoing professional development, staying current in the field of career development, coaching, and higher education. Participates in both mandatory and optional university-hosted trainings. Represents the office on university committees as assigned.
EDUCATION
Required:
Master's degree or equivalent in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field from a four-year college or university.
EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of progressive professional experience in career development, coaching, or higher education with a demonstrated record of leadership in career advising.
- Significant experience administering and interpreting career assessments and delivering expert-level career exploration coaching to diverse student and alumni populations.
Preferred:
- 5+ years of full-time, related experience in career coaching, preferably in a liberal arts higher education environment.
- Experience designing and leading training for staff or faculty.
- Demonstrated success in integrating career development within academic disciplines or serving as an academic liaison.
- Prior leadership and/or supervisory experience

- Advanced knowledge of career readiness models and their application.
- Proven track record of designing and delivering impactful career development programs.
- Specialized training and practical application of career and student development theories.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Preferred:
- Career coaching certification (e.g., NACE Board-Certified Coach)
- Gallup Strengths Certified.
