Job Description:
This position is eligible for up to two days remote work per week.
BASIC FUNCTION:
As part of the Communications & Marketing team, the Assistant Director coordinates communications on various platforms and assists with the utilization of the Admissions CRM (Slate) including reporting and data analysis related to the recruitment functions of the Office of Admissions working to achieve enrollment goals for new undergraduate and graduate students. Serves as a member of the Office of Admissions team in the recruitment and enrollment of students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruits and supervises undergraduate and/or graduate interns assigned to team and supports them in project-based assignments
Works as a member of the Admissions Communications Team to create and implement communications plans, develop, write and edit electronic communications, and track effectiveness of communications for both undergraduate and graduate recruitment
Assist in the creation of content with a focus on storytelling and brand voice to be used across digital/social, email, print and presentations
Works with the Director of Operations to: ensure accurate integration of data into the CRM from outside sources; create reports for use by staff and senior level managers; maintain and update queries and rules; and troubleshoot system issues
Build and manage additional functions in SLATE such as portals, admissions events, scheduler, forms and surveys
Contributes to university-wide marketing efforts on behalf of admissions such as website edits, social media needs, digital marketing presence, photo shoots and partnership updates.
Attend Slate conferences (when appropriate and with approval from supervisors) and keep abreast of ongoing changes/enhancements related to the CRM, sharing these changes with staff
Supports (and at times helps cover) traditional counselor functions such as presentations, recruitment events, on-campus events and application review.
Must be willing to work some Saturdays, Sundays, and evenings.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Special admissions projects designed to enhance admission/retention efforts as assigned
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Must have a valid driver's license and own vehicle.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The incumbent is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Requirements:
Required: Bachelor's degree
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and organization skills along with demonstrated success in managing projects.
Must be a self-started, problem solver, and creative thinker.
Must have the ability to work independently and as part of an office team.
Must be able to work evenings, nights and weekends, as needed.
Must have the ability to handle stress in a busy office atmosphere.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs and strong computer skills with an understanding of CRM's.
Preferred: Masters degree preferred
Prior experience working in an Admissions Office
Experience with Slate CRM
Demonstrated experience in logic and development of reports/queries in a CRM.
Experience with multi-variable analysis, knowledge of HTML and CSS coding.
Knowledge of Adobe design suite, Canva and/or uses of AI.
Confidence in or experience with social media platforms.
