We are currently looking for a Full Time Assistant Director, Hospital Pharmacy to join our Hospital Pharmacy team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center working 8:00AM-4:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.
Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide organizational alignment within the pharmacy department by coordinating operations within the inpatient pharmacy setting of the CNDH. Other duties of the position include but are not limited to pharmacy department policy and procedure management, Joint Commission/medication management oversight and coordination, and medication safety. Pharmacist must maintain the highest level of attention to detail, such as drug-drug interactions, drug-disease state interactions, drug-patient interactions (i.e. age, allergies, pregnancy, etc.), and preventing medication errors, all of which have the potential to cause injury or death.
Responsibilities:
* Coordinates and oversees inpatient pharmacy operations throughout the CNDH including processes, equipment, services provided, competencies, reports, employee performance, and department performance measures
* Provides operational support to inpatient pharmacy manager whenever needed
* Works with Inpatient Pharmacy Managers to compile and report inpatient pharmacy performance measures and KPIs to the Director of Pharmacy
* Works with the Inpatient Pharmacy Managers to ensure regulatory compliance of inpatient pharmacy practice including but not limited to Oklahoma Pharmacy Law, Joint Commission, USP 797, and USP 800
* Works with the Inpatient Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator to oversee clinical pharmacy activities within the inpatient pharmacy team and compile and report applicable data and performance measures to the Director of Pharmacy
* Manages pharmacy department policies, procedures, and protocols with the assistance of the Director of Pharmacy
* Coordinates work with subject matter experts within the pharmacy department to ensure all documents remain up to date and in line with current practice and facilitates document review and approval through the committee approval process
* Participates in monthly PNT committee planning and serves as a voting member of the PNT committee
* Collarborates with leadership to ensure Joint Commission compliance of medication management standards and applicable National Patient Safety Goals across the CNDH Works with Quality Department to follow up on tracers and recommendations from Joint Commission consultants on pharmacy practice within the CNDH Coordinates and drives Joint Commission compliance oversight with all managers and leadership within the pharmacy department, and regularly attends and reports when needed to the Joint Commission Core Team
* Develops and coordinates the CNDH Medication Safety Program, compiles and reports medication management data including but not limited to adverse drug reactions, medication errors, and pharmacy interventions, and regularly attends and reports when needed to the Patient Safety Action Team (PSAT)
* Contributes to the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health's culture of continuous performance improvement, coordinates and plans performance improvement projects for the inpatient pharmacy department, and assists inpatient pharmacy manager to facilitate these projects and report progress to appropriate committee (Quality Council)
* Serves as preceptor of PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency program when appropriate
* Maintains inpatient pharmacist competencies to work independently in the inpatient pharmacy setting to support direct patient care when needed
* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types

* CN Core Leadership Level 2

* Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BCPS, BCACP, etc.)

* Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License with preceptor license
* This position requires completion of level two Core Leadership Training within 18 months of the hire or promotion date
