Position Summary This position, located at NYU Washington, DC, reports to the Director of NYU Washington, DC, and liaises with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for Liberal Studies. It involves both teaching and administrative responsibilities, typically teaching 4-7 courses per academic year (fall, spring, and summer). The courses primarily support Liberal Studies (LS) students and their curriculum, provide student advising, collaborate with local staff, mentor LS local faculty, and coordinate academic and co-curricular events. The role facilitates communication between Washington, DC, and New York staff and faculty on behalf of LS. The Dean of Liberal Studies at NYU oversees academic planning and advising for Liberal Studies. The courses taught may be for LS students or the broader program at the site and could be either credit-bearing or non-credit (e.g., co-curricular writing workshops). As a key member of NYU DC, the Coordinator is responsible for the first-year experience, including orientation, facilitating connections between the New York campus and the Washington, DC center, supporting student integration through curricular and co-curricular initiatives, and designing professional development for local faculty. Qualifications Required Education: Doctoral Degree or other terminal degree in an appropriate field, preferred by the date of appointment.

Required Experience: Minimum of 3 years university-level teaching with demonstrated excellence. Preferred Experience: Mentoring faculty, coordinating administrative projects, teaching in liberal studies or general education with a global emphasis, and evidence of outstanding scholarship or professional activity. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Empathy for international students, teamwork, organizational skills, computer literacy (Microsoft Office), excellent communication skills, and experience addressing public audiences. Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Not applicable.Additional Information The annual base salary range for this position is USD $85,600.00 to USD $105,600.00, in accordance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act. Factors influencing compensation include scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, peer equity, market, and organizational considerations.
