LOCATION: Remote (preferred: Austin, San Francisco, or Chicago) REPORTS TO: Head of Brand POSITION OVERVIEW This exciting opportunity is with JOEY, a rapidly growing startup in the highly regulated Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector. As the Art Director, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the brand's visual strategy across trade, shopper, and activation initiatives. In this position, you will lead the creative process to develop compelling marketing materials that resonate with retailers and consumers. Your expertise will help us create impactful shopper marketing campaigns, eye-catching trade assets, and memorable experiential activations that elevate JOEY's presence both in-store and beyond. This role is perfect for a creative visionary with a strong background in driving retail conversion and activation campaigns. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Shopper & Trade Marketing - Design point-of-sale materials, displays, sell-in collateral, and retailer-specific campaigns that enhance visibility and encourage trial. Activation Creative - Create engaging visuals for sampling programs, events, and experiential activations that amplify brand awareness. Campaign Storytelling - Transform brand strategies into impactful activation campaigns that can be adapted for various markets. AI-Enabled Creative Development - Utilize AI tools to generate visuals, mockups, and prototypes, speeding up campaign iteration and production. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with brand, sales, and operations teams to ensure creative works align with and support commercial objectives. Compliance Execution - Ensure that all retail and activation creative meet the necessary regulatory and partner requirements. QUALIFICATIONS 8+ years of art direction and design experience in CPG, specifically focused on shopper, trade, or activation. A strong portfolio showcasing shopper campaigns, trade assets, and experiential creativity. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and AI imagery tools. Experience in compliance-driven categories (such as alcohol, cannabis, nicotine, OTC) is highly preferred. Adept at collaborating with sales and brand marketing teams. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
