The Breakdown:
The Art Director is a pivotal force behind transforming marketing strategies into bold, story-driven creative campaigns. Focused on both brand and category-level work, this role blends creative strategy with hands-on development-ensuring ideas are not only innovative but also actionable and easily localized across channels.
This individual is a visual storyteller and systems thinker, able to shift seamlessly from high-level ideation to detailed execution. They work closely with marketing strategists, copywriters, and designers to bring brand narratives and commercial goals to life through cohesive creative-balancing brand-building with sell-through.
While not a full-time maker, this role is deeply embedded in the executional process-building toolkits, templates, and asset systems that empower downstream teams to adapt and amplify the work globally.
What You'll Get to Do:
Campaign Execution: Translate marketing strategies into fully built creative campaigns that are both brand-right and category-specific and designed for scalability and localization
Creative Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives that integrate visuals and copy grounded in cultural relevance, product truths and brand identity
Brand + Category Balance: Drive both high-level brand storytelling and category campaign development ensuring each campaign ladders into broader brand goals
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner deeply with Category Marketing, Sports Marketing and Integrated teams to ensure creative outputs deliver on business and commercial objectives.
Stakeholder Management: Act as a connector between creative and strategic functions-keeping stakeholders informed, aligned, and engaged throughout the campaign lifecycle. Maintain regular checkpoints with the Creative Director, VP Creative and CMO to ensure alignment on creative direction, brand integrity and campaign impact
Creative Oversight: Guide the development of toolkits and master creative assets, including campaign identities, messaging, visuals and modular content for digital, retail, and social
Executional Rigor: Ensure creative is delivered on time, in full, supporting creative operations by tracking timelines and workflows
Growth Mindset: Prioritize creativity that drives business impact, focusing on commercial storytelling, audience relevance, and creative effectiveness
Mentorship & Direction: Provide direction and feedback to designers and writers-ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality across all workstreams
What You'll Bring to the Team: Experience: 8-10+ years of experience in creative roles, with a strong focus on developing campaign-level creative across brand and product categories
Hybrid Skillset: Deep understanding of both visual design and copywriting-knows how story and design integrate to move consumers
Execution-First Thinking: Experience delivering campaign systems, not just big ideas-can work through iterations, versioning, and hand-off needs to deliver storytelling across all channels
Strategic Fluency: Ability to synthesize marketing briefs into sharp, actionable creative that delivers against business objectives
Strong Communicator: Skilled at presenting concepts and rationale to senior leaders and navigating cross-functional dynamics with confidence
Creative Tools: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and presentation design; familiarity with campaign toolkit development is a plus
Collaborative Leadership: Values mentorship, feedback, and iteration-excels in environments where execution is key and collaboration is high

The hiring range for this role is $80,000-$90,000, depending on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, and available budget. Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include any potential bonus and other benefits that we offer. This is an on-site role, based in Burlington, VT. We will offer relocation assistance to move to Vermont to any candidate who is hired.
